Since the start of his career at Manchester United in 1993, David Beckham has rocketed to a status many footballers can only aspire to. Becoming the best-known footballer across the globe, and England's 'Golden Balls'.
Beckham lit up the Premier League when he scored from the half way mark for Manchester United in the 1996-1997 season, and his status has never stopped growing.

He has played for several of Europe's elite during his illustrious career including Real Madrid, AC Milan and most recently PSG. Beckham announced his retirement after winning the Ligue One title with PSG, declaring that he simply wanted to end on a high as the reason for his departure from the game.

Beckham spent 10 years at Old Trafford with just a short loan spell at Preston North End between 1994-1995, breaking his time up under Sir Alex. A man Beckham would later come to adhere to as, his 'football father figure'.

So in tribute to this long serving ambassador to the English game, here are some of David Beckham's best bits.

1995-1996; Beckham lifts his first of six Premier League trophies with Manchester United, seeing off fierce competition from Newcastle United under Kevin Keegan.

1996-1997: Beckham scores the now, world famous half way line lob against Wimbledon for Manchester United. Announcing his brilliance to the football world.

1998-1999: Beckham lifts the Champions League trophy for the first time, as Manchester United see off Bayern Munich, with two dramatic injury time goals.

1998-1999: Beckham wins the coveted UEFA Club Footballer of the Year and UEFA Club Midfielder of the Year award.

2000: Beckham is promoted to England captain by caretaker manager Peter Taylor, following Kevin Keegan's resignation. A role he kept under new manager Sven-Goran-Eriksson.

2001: Beckham cements his 'bend it like Beckham' free-kick as his trademark. After he bends the ball over the Greece wall and into the top corner from 30-yards, in injury time, to secure England's automatic qualification for the 2002 World Cup Finals.
