Sidney Sam has stated that he never ever considered playing for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The Bayer Leverkusen winger, has been on Stephen Keshi’s radar for a while, as Nigeria tried to lure him into playing for them, after representing Germany at junior level.



Even though Sam could still switch nationality, he has opted to represent the Die Mannschaft and has been called up for their upcoming games.

“2014 is still far away but for me it is only Germany that counts. We don’t have to speak about Nigeria,” Sam told German sports agency, SID.

“I never really thought about Nigeria and I do not know who invented that.”

“I always wanted to play for Germany and I know I was on the coaches’ list. A pity, I was often injured. But now I am here and want to prove my strengths.”

Who does he hope to bench?
Ozil, Kedira, Gotze, Ruis, Swenztigar, Krux, Tommrshak or who?

Here we go again. Ameobi said the same thing hoping to break into the English national team. That didn't work for him.
Yet NFA stupidly allowed him to wear our jersey even when the tool had nothing to offer.
Victor Moses said same thing, but as a wise guy saw the writing on the wall and made a u-turn.
