That serves him right. He should have taken a cue from Owomoyela,Fashanu and Agbonlahor etc.I dont feel bad for him.He is an adult and should be responsible for what decisions taken be it positive or negative. It is obvious Eagles dont need him anymore.

how many caps did the foreign born players who represented nigeria win 4 us. Only ekoku and odemwingie had more dan 15 caps for us so stop criticizing them....aluko has 2 caps in 4 years

sidney sam would definitely have been a vital member of the team as he was consistently chased by the NFF and the various national team coaches.
Anyway,good riddance.

lol you guys are all wrong on so many levels.

1. he is a young player, so what if he was excluded for just one game he has a lot of time to continue to prove himself and if he does he might just go on to become a regular for them.

2. he is still eligible to play for Nigeria. he only played in a friendly game and elgibility constraints are based on competitive games.

so no story here

he is no longer eligible to play for Nigeria.
And i don't think he has any chance of breaking into the german team.

1)If he is a young player then he should be called up. all (or at least most) other young players got a call up..draxler, goetze, etc.. SO it would only be logical to call up ANOTHER young player like Sam.

Maybe he will get called up later but as good as he is, i still dont see him getting regular playing time.\

2)he is no more elligible to play for nigeri

under fifa eligibility rules bring capped at senior level rules you out from switching nationalities only if it was a competitive game. he was capped in a friendly..... it only means its gonna be a little more complicated for him to switch sides

i knw he would have been quality addition to SE but with d kind of coaches we have u cannot guarantee he would have gotten up to ten caps 4 d eagles considerin d fact dat many foreign born eagles dont get enough caps.

but in his case i don't think any nigerian coach will ever call him up as he is already a german international
Re: Germany Snubs Sidney Sam by Kgdavid(m): 5:28pm On Aug 12, 2013
why won't they? thats not a good reason not to call him up. he looks like a decent player and he is a goal scoring midfielder which is something we lack at this point.
Re: Germany Snubs Sidney Sam by SuyaEater(m): 2:50am On Aug 13, 2013
make e go die jare.....there are many footballers on the streets of lagos, enugu, kano, port harcourt ....that have more skils than him.

Just look at how low we have sank nigerians....during the 90s we never beg for foreign born players to play for us.....just look at us now.

he would hav been a good addition to the SE, and to be honest d majority of foreign born players who played 4 us are low grade players with most of dem getting capped late in their careers
