Wole Soyinka did one - but I guess you know that already. Search the poems link above the list of threads in Literature; you might find one.

Probably compose one yourself if you need one badly

Apart from Wole Soyinka, John Pepper Clark also wrote on Abiku. Would Have senr both to you but can't start typing it now. When am able to scan it, i will paste it for you. Both work is a master piece. it a way of anglicising the nigerian languages and showcasing our philosophy and belief to the world. I did English Literature in the University so am aquainted with literary works. Takia

hi,
am guessin dat u want poems on Abiku, so here goes, the only ones i know dat are popular are d ones written by Wole soyinka and John Pepper clark.

Abiku. J.P. Clark

Coming and going these several seasons,
do stay out on the baobab tree
follow where you please your kindred spirits
if indoors is not enough for you.
true, it leaks through the thatch
when flood brim the banks,
and the bats and the owls
often tear in at night through the eaves
and at harmattan, the bamboo walls
are ready tinder for the fire
that dries the fresh fish up on the rack.
still, its been the healthy stock
to several fingers, to many more will be
who reach to the sun.
no longer bestride the threshold
but step in and stay
for good. we know the knife scars
serrating down your back and front
like beak of the sword-fish
and both of your ears notched
as a bondsman of this house
are all relics of your first comings.
then step in, step in and stay
for her body is tired
tired, her milk going sour
where many more mouths gladden the heart.
grin
that's the first, too tired to type d other, guess dis would have to do 4 now
