Arsenal Trio Successfully Land An Emirates Aeroplane by Adufaye(m): 9:34am On May 30, 2013 |
Arsenal trio Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Carl Jenkinson and Kieran Gibbs appear to have a career in the cockpit lined up when they retire – after successfully landing an Emirates aeroplane. The Gunners stars are all used to challenges in the air, but instead of a crucial header, they were charged with bringing down the airliner in a simulator at Dubai International Airport. The controls mimic those of a £250million A380 plane that can carry over 850 passengers, and after just the briefest of training, they got into the cockpit. Winger Oxlade-Chamberlain proved to be natural, landing the plane brilliantly first time, before a nervous Gibbs repeated the feat. England international Jenkinson also managed to land the flight, but only after shuddering it on to the tarmac at speed, making it a rather uncomfortable entry onto the runway. Still, Emirates’ chief instructor Warren Coles was still impressed, telling them: ‘You all did really well – a little bit of confusion between the controls initially, but you got it at the end. You might have blown the tyres slightly but overall I was pretty impressed for a first go.’ Perhaps Arsene Wenger will look to save a few quid by getting one of the players to fly the team to their next match… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGK7aqBWBkk#

i see danger. wenger is planing to economise some bucks and use his own player pilots. anyways, my mikel and moses have nothing to do on such flights. there is a possibility that the whole team will turn their attention to piloting planes since nothing is happening for them on the pitch. since u cannot land trophies, land plane after all, landing is landing. other players are landing trophies and arsenal players are landing planes. very soon, we will see wenger docking ships. |

Now that they've sucessfully landed a plane in a simulated flight, its time for them to go land a throphy in reality. |

they can't land two things at the same time. since they successfully landed some planes, i urge arsenal fans to start supporting pilots. whether jonah swallowed a shark or a shark swallowed jonah, the most important thing here is that there was a swallow. so whether the land cup, bucket or plane, landing is involved and those of us at chelsea will not wait for them to land plane and then land trophies again. na madness.when emirate was building a stadium, they did not tell us that it was a run way/airport. |
