We know why our people, famed for building the biggest temples and monuments of the ancient world, gradually lost those skills and tendencies... the ancient migrations, north to south, east to west of Africa, caused by desertification of the Sahara and the fleeing from foreign invaders in Nubia, Egypt, Kush, etc, led to a severe influx and disruptions in the African hinterland, with frequent upheavals and displacement, caused by competition for water sources, fertile land etc... This made it unwise for communities to invest in large sturdy buildings. Why build large and expensive when you could be forced to flee invaders the next month or week, or day? Better to build a hut and a little shrine near the bush to honor our deity!

But times have changed. We are now more stable. Our traditional religions can now begin to recapture their ancient glory, which saw massive temples to God built in ancient Ghana, Nubia, Egypt, Kerma, Kush, Ethiopia, often thousands of years before the first church or mosque was built.

IFE by now should be seeing the construction of a MASSIVE TEMPLE for traditional worship. THEN eventually places like ABUJA, LAGOS, and ONITSHA would boast theirs.
