I have a block of 6 flats and the wiring has not been done yet.
What kind of proposal do you have for this scenario.

# I dont know what kind of dish/satellite tenants would like to use, at the same time I do not want dishes sprawling all over the place, how do you propose to sort this out ?
# Easy maintenance and doesnt use electricity ?

# Can we pre-wire Tv access for the flats and will the coax cable enter every room ?

# When do you need to be involved ? Guessing before plastering.

# Can we have one disk for everyone to share, doesnt use electricity and has multiple LNB'c covering the various satellites ?

Good day boss,

I will answer the question one by one,...

1. The general satellite tv here is DSTV, occasionaly u might just add some FTA air satellite tv system in case a tenant request for it, that means one dish for dstv and another dish for fta.

2. its recommended that the wiring is done and via conduit before plastering.... the cable standard has to be adhere to as well conduit can be done by the electrician though through our supervision. though some client prefer we do the conduit ourself to avoid issues.

4. One dish for the whole unit is perfect... its just six flat. and we going to use passive multiswitch to distribute signal to the apartment, no need for electricity, we only use electricity for a building thats more than 20 flats

Would it still be possible to do this without chiseling any columns/beams etc ?
Which stage do you get involved, is this wiring ?

a drawing of the site location or a physical survey is very important to determine dish location and cost as well..

all the room will be wire ready for both raw signal and rf signal from the decoder, this will allow the occupant to a choice location on where to place there decoder box...
