Thierry Henry: Why Do You Think He Stayed. by dalisto(m): 6:33pm On May 19, 2006 |
For every step we take in life, we normally have a reason for going in that direction. Either because the decision would make us a better person; or it could be the fear of what would happen if we took an alternative step; or it could be to please ourselves or possibly to please those we feel we owe a lot to. Thierry Henry's decided to stay with the gunners for the duration of yet another contract. There is undoubtedly a reason why he did and a lot of stuff must have been going through his mind about his future and what not. Thierry said, amongst other things, that his heart is with Arsenal: http://msnsport.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=388537&CPID=23&clid=178&lid=3&title=Henry:+I'll+never+go+to+Spain One or two views in the following link question his ambition and also whether he is "thinking of"/"doubting" the success he might attain if he had moved. Check the views in the link below. http://www.skysports.com/skysports/article/0,,1-1222244,00.html Bottomline is, something personally prompted him to stay. Try and peek into Henry's mind a few minutes and tell the forum: "What do you think it was that made Henry eventually wanna stay". Gunners 4 lyf o![s][/s] |

He stayed he realised that he is not as good as many think he is.The Champions League final reignited doubts in his mind with regards to his ability at the highest level where there is a lot of pressure to deliver. One can see from past experience in the World Cup and Euro 2004 that hENRY fails to deliver when faced with a big game. His best performances tend to be against mediocre sides like Sunderland.Middlesboro where he gets a standing ovation.Who can remember a single decent performance fron Henry at Old Trafford? He decided to reign in the mediocrity that is Arsenal than serve in the excellence of Barcalona .A one eyed man leading the blind. |

For a Coach, teammates and fans to beg u to stay, it would be unfair for him to leave, |

4play you seem to forget henry's goal against real madrid, his performance against inter milan. There are countless times henry has performed at the highest level. The guy stayed because his heart is with the club. Its the same reason maldini and other club greats have stayed at their clubs. when real wanted roy keane he refused to go, because his heart was at the club. The guy is a legend whether you acknowledge it or not. |

@ Spikelord, U have a knack/bad habit of posting the same comments twice and its annoying. Can't u modify ur comments having realised u'd goofed? Bloody Hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! @Nightrider, Henry stayed back cos he must have realised Arsenal will suffer if he leaves. Arsenal is building a team and they still need Henry's leadership to guide the team for at least anutha season before the team can gel effectively. Henry knows the team has a small squad size and leaving em now wld have plunged Arsenal into relegation next season. |

No captain leaves his ship in times of crisis. If he does and unfortunately does not click at barcelona, then he has a long time to regret. It may also lead to the exodus of people like Ahley, Pires , Ljumberg, Arsenal has shown this season that hard work and luck can get you far in the champions league, you dont necessarily need all round stars. Again, imagine Henry with his actions after scoring a goal.Believe me, it makes a lot of people angry, though Gunners enjoy it. In La liga, he might end up getting the monkey treatment, I am sure he can never survive it with his anger level. Aside, he likes to see a good game, I believe the players have shown they are capable of producing one.He may also have realised that if he had delivered Arsenal would have been the Champions. Again, going to a new stadium, having his family settled in London (I learnt his wife is English) could also have made a lot of difference. Remember, some players have gone hoping to get a champions league medal and they failed. |
