Could Prayers Forestall Another Meltdown? TB Joshua by NicolasN: 8:05pm On Jun 28, 2013
ON JUNE 9, 2013 Nigerian preacher and faith healer TB Joshua of SCOAN Church prophesied that the world will be experiencing another great financial meltdown.
In his sermon he mentioned that the crisis will affect a number of companies.
He also said that the financial meltdown will be so heavy that companies that were netting as much as profiting US$500 million will be making less than US$500,000 annually.
He also mentioned that there will be massive job losses around the world and that only a few companies will survive.
This is the second time the Nigerian prophet has prophesied on a financial meltdown. Before the 2009 – 2010 financial meltdowns he prophesied that the world would experience these crises. And the world experienced the financial meltdown.
TB Joshua is on record as having made a number of prophecies that had come to pass. So it is anticipated that this prophecy could be fulfilled.
His pronouncements remind me of the ongoing cyber crimes. The rampart spread of this new crimes is worrisome. Aljazeera TV network reported that cyber crime has been ranked number one by Interpol on its financial crime index.
Back home, the Zambia Police Service reported that US$4 million has been stolen from different commercial banks’ automated teller machine (ATM) withdrawals through a scam involving three foreign criminals who had recruited and trained Zambians in cyber crime.
The Los Angeles Times reported that worldwide a gang of criminals stole a total of US$45 million in a matter of hours by hacking their way into a database of prepaid debit cards and then draining cash machines around the globe.
The United States’ Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) on May 20, 2013 announced the unsealing of indictments against three individuals who played critical roles in creating and distributing the Gozi virus, one of the most financially destructive computer viruses in history. The Gozi virus infected over one million computers globally and caused tens of millions of dollars in losses.
Nikita Kuzmin, the Russian who created the Gozi virus, was arrested in the US in November 2010 and pleaded guilty before district judge Leonard B Sand to various computer intrusion and fraud charges in May 2011.
Deniss Calovskis, a Latvian national who wrote the computer code that made the Gozi virus effective, was arrested in Latvia in November 2012.
Mihai Ionut Paunescu, a Romanian national who allegedly ran a ‘bulletproof hosting’ service that enabled cyber criminals to distribute the Gozi virus, the Zeus Trojan and other notorious malware and to conduct other sophisticated cyber crimes, was arrested in Romania in December 2012.
While the internet has revolutionised business and communication almost overnight, laws regulating its use and misuse haven’t developed as swiftly.
Cyber crime has been increasing at the same pace of development in information and communication technology.
But who is the cause and inventor of cyber crime? Should we accuse the innovators of IT packages as prime suspects?
Or should we treat cyber crimes as the story of the computer virus, where the innovators created the computer and later created viruses in order to create a multibillion business.
Or should we look at it as another world business where thieves have teamed up with business leaders to siphon money from the poor?
Maybe we should say these are works of the business mafia or baboons?
In conclusion, as TB Joshua said, it is time for Christians and children of God to pray for the world.
It is only the prayers of the children of God that would save the world from collapsing. Therefore, Christians should unite in prayer and ask God for mercy and protection.
