I was having a discussion with my family friend today about the order of loved ones. Is there an order? She told me that my spouse should always come before my parents, then my children, then my parents, then myself is last.

So in other words this is the order in which priority lies... Marital spouse, children, parents, extended family, friends, then yourself.

I raised the issue again with a friend on fb, he claimed mother give life, she is the first teacher and mother was the person that brought me up. Without her, no me for her to marry therefore mother is more important.


I decide to bring this issue to nairaland. How do you guys feel about this? Let ask too, who is your first priority : mother or wife?

I understand you too bro. Im not married yet too. Well for now, my mother is my first priority. But I think when Im married, I belong to a new family while my previous family will turn to extended family. Man should love both mother and wife though

There is saying that your son is your son until he is married.

Doesn't mean that you'll love your parents, siblings and other family members any less.

I am not married yet but when I do, my wife should come first though I will still love my mum because she has been a good mum all these while. may God bless my mum for her kindness to her childrean
