Good day my people.
The SATA HDD in my ProBook 4510s laptop did not allow me to re-install Windows 7 so I changed it and now Windows 7 is installed. I used the 'follow come' HDD as an external HD (it has 3 partitions with one that is System Reserved) which worked - I even copied some of my files from there to the new HDD now inside the laptop.
The issue now is that if I connect the external HD only the System Reserved will show, I will be asked to format the rest partitions; if I try formatting any, it will end up saying "Cannot format".
Someone please help me as almost all my data are on that hard disk.

The lastest issue now is that my system does not see the now external hard disk when I plug it in.

The most important thing now are my files in there. I there anyway i can get them out?

All my work files I know this was the back up to a drive . A hard disk drive failure occurs when a hard disk drive malfunctions and the stored information cannot be accessed with a properly configured computer .

There are many things that can cause an external drive to fail.
Try changing ur USB Cable as well as the external drive socket.
You can also to your control panel on your computer and select administrative tools and select disk management and see if it will display there. If it does then there is hope

If all fails then you will need to recover Your files using file scavenger.

its volume is probably deleted.
