3-Storey Building Collapses In Kaduna, over 50 trapped. by Symphony007: 5:06pm On Jul 11, 2013 |
Update coming out of kaduna says Rescue operations are still underway and it is belived that six children were trapped under the rubble. A six months old baby has been rescued but it is taught over 50 people are still trapped. Crowds gathered demanding the people trapped shouting for help should be saved but it took nema two hours to mobilize rescue geer, including renting a crane from julius berger. It is not known if their are dead. But one child was rescued, the fate of the others are unknown, NEMA says they are doing everything possible to rescue people trapped. And insisited that no one has died, but residents claimed a woman's dead body was pulled out of the rubble. The state governor is at the scene. NOTE: nema has apologised for earlier reports that the building was built a 101 years ago. Rather, it is belived, it was built in the 80's by an alhaji and out of mud, which might be a major contributing factor. http://dailytrust.com.ng/index.php/top-stories/59126-many-trapped-in-kaduna-collapsed-building http://premiumtimesng.com/news/140781-update-six-children-trapped-one-rescued-in-kaduna-collapsed-building-nema.html

ogugua88:don't mind them. I know of a building in europe, it is actually an underground building and it is still looks neat and dirtless, did you know this building is over a 150year old? Europeans love preserving old monuments, relics, etc. Asking Nigeria to do same would be a big favour. |

Too bad. People should start checking their building to know if it's still safe from collapse. 1 Like |
