There is an awakening of sorts since the Iron Curtain come down. My Russian friend, who is Christian now, said that she did not attend church growing up. Religion was just an ancient superstition to most during the communist reign. She said she heard many bible stories growing up, but thought they were only nursery rhymes. She discovered they were not when as a teen, she was introduced to Christianity.
