Let's have the secksy Original Hausa names. . . please, don't give us something like Zainab or Yakubu (I love these names o ). Thanks everyone for your contribution to the thread. This really means a lot to me. @MC USMAN, those names sound masculine except for larai and Kubura. Do you by any chance know the meaning of the two names (Larai, Kubura) and whether they are female, male or unisex, that is if I am not asking too much. Aboki, nagode. |

Re: Original Hausa Names by MCUsman(m): 4:16pm On May 30, 2008 |
grafikdon: Names that are unisex are not very common in Hausa societies as in what is available in Yorubaland. Names are either masculine or otherwise. As regrds thier meaning i can not authoritavely say they have no meaning. But to be frank i think they are just names just like any other name that has no meaning. Kande Turai Larai Yelwa Kubura Maimuna Monsura Yasira Uwani Shibu Jamila Hindatu Goggo Many more are commonly used that are purely indeginous Uche2nna:Amina is an Arabic name. Uche2nna: Yes the famous Queen Amina of Zaria. |
