A group called Yoruba Community in Kano has added leader
of OPC, Dr. Fredrick Fasheun, over his role identifying with
the Chief Security Officer to former Military ruler, General
Sanni Abacha, Hamza Al-Mustapha who was accused in
the murder of Mr. Kudirat Abiola.

Dr. Fasheun, 78, went with Al-Mustapha to the Northern
city of Kano after the later was acquitted by the Appeal
Court and telling the public that he was innocent of the crime
as charged.

addressing the group, Yoruba Community in Kano, Dr.
Fasheun said Al-Mustapha was not guilty of the crime for
which he was tried. He also said the murder had long been
committed, stressing that forgiveness was important at this
time. For this reason, Dr. Fasheun said he also went with Al-
Mustapha to house of the late Military dictator, General
Abacha. Dr. Fasheun kept from suggesting that the killers of
Mrs. Kudirat are uncovered and brought to justice if the
accused is innocent, rather he said he had forgiven General
Abacha, while also asking his audience to follow suit.

Hailing his action on Al-Mustapha, the group conferred on
him a new title; Olododo of Yoruba Land, which suggests
that he stands by the truth every time.
