Where Are The Atheists And The Shallow-minded Agnostics by Actjulius: 9:46pm On Jul 28, 2013
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
1 Corinthians 1: 18-27

Op, did you just quote, verbatim, a group of folk tales belonging to (or more accurately, stolen by) some goat herdsmen so ignorant they likely thought the earth flat, which was compiled ~2000 years ago?

Imported tales used to justify slaving your ancestors and all manners of other nonsense no less, without any input from your learned self whatsoever, did you just copy/paste said tales then call agnostics 'shallow'?

I know say e no go hard u, considering your plenty deepness, to get my point, yes?

The problem with those silly atheists is that they think too much.

Thinking too much is bad. It's far better to be štupid.

Don't mind those stoopid atheists. You have to be really dumb to not believe that God somehow manage to magic himself into existence & create the planet in just 6 days (a 144 hours) & those atheists have the cheek to ask questions about the dinosaurs which existed before God created the planet, Noahs Ark, DNA & when God invented gravity? lol.
Oh , I have told many many times that too much thinking is bad, too much reading is bad.
Infact , I have been told by a christian brother that many books on science and philosophy are demon-posessed .
So go figure.

@manmustwac; please keep wacking and keep asking, it is your right to do so. Atleast you are smart enough to believe the fairy tales of some animals that existed some billion years ago when its even really difficult for the same scientists to provide evidence of some settlements that existed some few thousand years ago - so smart!

what do you expect, as we live by faith in Christ, so do they in the unproven myth called big ba.ng, garnish it some sounding words - theory and still claim that they simply have a disbelief in unseen things yet believe in the big b.ang. How awkward.

Ah. Ignorance is bliss. It is a fairy tale to accept scientific evidence that there there were organisms billions of years ago but it is truth to accept that there were snakes and donkeys that spoke to people.

Those self proclaimed atheists seem to forget that even the greatest mind of the 20th century believed in God.

Albert Einstein said something that put everything in perspective.

"Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind."

From this wonderful quotation, it's obvious that Einstein found a way to make both work in his life. Just like the bible says;

"Give to Caesar what is Caeser's, and to God what is God's."

Believing in the big bang theory doesn't really contradicts the creation story as some ill informed atheists and theists wants people to believe. Religion simply found a way to tell a story people will relate to on more primitive level, why science took the practical and blunt approach.

Believing in both God and science will not only enrich your life but will give you a unique perception of it. Being a God hating atheist is lame, while being a science hating theist is equally lame.

I will offer you 1 kobo for that opinion.

The bolded is a fallacy.

First, atheists cannot hate what they do not believe in. You might as well say that atheists love the devil.

Believing in god will enrich one's life and offer unique perception?
The opposite seems to be the case.

I and many millions of atheists here and around the world have been living without the much touted Vitamin G for quite a log time. So far, there appears to be no negative feedback or side effects so far.

Do you have any evidence that shows that the absence of vitamin G in one's life leads to any sort of impairments or long term damage to the human psyche or human society?

On the other hand, do you have any evidence that a life enriched with Vitamin G is free from stress , disease or behavioral problems?

There is evidence, both historical and presently that a life infused with vitamin G has caused so much division, so much evil, destruction, exploitation and degradation of human dignity.

It is hard to imagine that the lives of members of Alqueida, boko Haram , pedophile priests, etc, are all examples of highly enriched lives of people sufficiently infused with vitamin G.

Even if Einstein believed in a god, which he didnt anyway, how does saying "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind." prove anything about the existing of the thing called god?

Religion is in fact the bane of science. Its why Nigeria cannot make any advancement in science and technology.

Take Nigeria as a case study and if you still think science without religion is lame, then you should be ignored. What the evidence shows is that religion destroys science.

@ooman and plaetton, both of you doesn't seem to grasp my point. It's true that religion has it's failings, but it also has it's strong points. A deeply conscientious man is usually a religious man. Not always, but most often than not.

plaetton was of the opinion that religion is the devil, that the world doesn't need it. I smiled at that because you jumped the gun too soon. Like a typical hardcore atheist, you are quick to heap all the problems the world is facing on religion. ooman even called it the bane of science. But you seem to forget all about human nature.

Human as a specie is self destructive and combative. Humans do not adapt to their environments like other animals, instead they do the next best thing, they modify their environments to suit them. My point being, if the world is devoid of religion, atheist will still find new reasons to kill off one another. It's not a religious thing, rather a simple thing called human nature

Bottom line; Religion and science can co-exist in the life of man if he/she so desires and he/she would be better for it.

Believing in God doesn't make one neurotic, neither does science makes one a robot.

Religion is not the problem, WE ARE the problem.

You make good points, but you also willfully forget that the main purpose( at least what they claim) of religion is about taming and molding human nature towards a god-centered perfection. Science makes no such claims or pretenses.

In the quest to build this supposed god-centered perfection, a lot of assumptions are made about what god likes, wants and does not like, and a lot of shyt follows.
That is the evil in the world.

So, God and religion, the underpinnings of neurotic behavior , cannot be deemed to be good in any way.

As long as religion causes a noticeable level of destruction, it means that it is inherently bad, even if just a few are good ambassadors for religion.

There is no Nation in human History that has lived peacefully for any extended period of time, on account of any religion, without exploiting or subjugating any other group.
