The Napoleons and maybe the "gulf" playing Hijab men

Looking at what Frumentius detailed up there,I just thought, could this be done in west Africa? what do you think?

It seems the Cameroonians would prefer the main army idle

My 2 kobo

Na condition wey make crayfish bend... with pirates/oil bunkers in the gulf of guinea and Islamist terrorists in the lake chad region we actually have no choice than to work closely with other ECOWAS nations.

•Joint naval patrols.

•Our men already fight side by side with Cameroon’s soldiers.

•Numerous interventions and peacekeeping mission.

The swift EVOWAS response in The Gambia with 3 major players (Senegal, Nigeria and Ghana) shows that we sure can work together, the defense pacts have been signed decades ago, now what we need focus on is building permanent structures (commands structure, bases, joint training and focus on cross compatibility)

Problem is how do we convince these tight handed francophone countries to spend money (which is largely controlled by big papa France) on something that is against French interest.

Serious something I tell you.
The Francofooled boys? Ah! Ifa and other deities would be needed to reset their psychology

That's why I say our sh1t must be gotten together.. As per egbon we should be able to pull our weight on those fellas. I hate to see unilateral or better still few countries stepping forward when things go ape sh1t. I would like a collective ECOWAS approach to the security issues in the sub region

It makes sense, the BIR is relatively new. The Army should have had a specialised unit AKA Special Forces.

Looking at that scratched Ratel, I wonder if other countries take armour maintainance very serious.
Forgot to add the context, Wear and tear of war I guess. Those are frontline soldiers fighting BH.

In other news, with deployment of soldiers and mechanised hardware to the SE, I hope rules of engagement are properly drilled down. Mishaps may scuttle any recently approved arms deal with the Americans.

The Nigerian Navy has received two FPB 72 patrol vessels from France's Ocea shipyard, and has ordered another three.

From the previous SADC exercise in the land of the cousins, Exercise Golfinho.
FACTOID: apart from SA, Namibia has hosted more SADC exercises than all the other SADC countries.
I keep banging on about this, but some day SADC will have to go the NATO/EU route and start pooling military resources. More integration and dwindling budgets will simply demand it. This is the structure I see:
1) a SADC Naval Atlantic Command comprising SA, Namibia and Angola with Walvis Bay as the HQ;
2) a SADC Naval Indian Command comprising SA, Mozambique, Mauritius, Seychelles, Madagascar and Tanzania with Dar es Salaam as the HQ;
3) a SADC Jungle Warfare School in the DRC; a Desert Warfare School in Namibia;
4) permanent SADC forward bases in Cabinda, DRC, Tanzania and Madagascar;
5) some form of pooled sealift run jointly by the 2 Naval Commands; and some form of pooled heavy airlift basing out of Botswana (oh the tussle whether this should be A400M or IL-76! grin).
Zimbabwe is hosting the SADC regional peacekeeping training centre, while Botswana has offered 19 hectares of land at Rasesa for a SADC logistics depot. Some at our JOps are unhappy about the choice, preferring Ndola/Kasama in Zambia, mainly for 2 reasons:
- proximity to the DRC, which is the main source of instability within the SADC region; and
- existing rail links for most SADC countries and the current extension of the runway to 4000m+.

Why not combine the Naval commands in cape town?

Best naval dockyards* infastructure in SADAC (probably in S.S.A)

Best comms infastructure in S.S.A at silvermine

and the fact that it straddles the Atlantic and Indian means that it would allow more flexibility

*naval dockyard infastructure, human capital has been seriously degraded though (nothing that funneling in all the skills in SADAC couldent fix though)

Still, our Generals would rather get fat off kickbacks from foreign acquisitions while DICON remains a joke and companies like Proforce can't get the esteemed patronage they deserve.
Who says we can't have a Defence Industry that produces and maintain all the military's hardware?

JANS is the name given to the BH faction headed by Shekau
I confirmed the ARMY'S claims independently
5 of Shekau's top commanders have been INDEED BEEN killed because Shekau confirmed it noticeably did he not produce a single one of them in his video/ rant.
The Army is also claiming two more of his commanders became fertilizer products on Monday.
IMHO
The Military hierarchy must not relent in completely eradicating the core leadership of Shekau's leadership faction and in the process go for Shekau.
