No they do not.
Each country pays for its rescue team. In fact, before flying to the disaster area, that country's authorities must satisfy themselves that your team will not be a burden and divert resources away.

No no, wasn't sarcastic, rescue teams are remunerated by said country or other humanitarian organisations, you probably remember South African rescue(Fire fighters) teams a couple of years ago in Canada and the controversies surrounding the amount that was paid to the South African Government and the absolute peanuts they paid the rescue teams.

It's a safety pin, to block a discharging bullet should it happen that someone forgot to empty their mag and clear the rifle chamber..... it helps a lot, there have been countless incidents where troops had live-chambered ammunition during an exercise and injured other troops.

Ah! I suspected you were confusing it with the fire fighters. They didn't go there as part of Rescue SA, but a separate agreement between the provincial govt of Alberta and whatever province in SA. And yes, Alberta paid a per diem, which was paid to all firefighters from outside Alberta. The Mpumalanga(?) liaison officer insisted on handling the payments for our guys, and short-changed them. It was whilst speaking to California fire fighters that our guys discovered they were receiving less of a daily allowance.
So no, this is a unique situation and no way applicable to disaster zones and protocols.
A friend at Dept of Foreign Affairs used to be in charge of smoothing the way for Rescue SA, and used to go through incredible highs and soul-destroying lows!

One thing I know about the Americans, when they go out to do these joint exercises, they go with the mindset to learn from the host country.. They would have allowed the SANDF to fully slaughter them so they could learn the full extent of these tactics.

Rescue teams are either on salary by the sending country/organization or volunteers. But not by Turkey.

NAF is already the organization I mean with members under them. Unless you mean having the Nigerian government directly fund it rather than the NAF accounts.

UN peacekeeping missions are usually sponsoed by the UN and the Nigerian military gets paid and sponsored in that case. But if the Nigerian military are waiting for a UN mission it simply means that Nigeria cannot organize and fund a humanitarian mission by herself.

The body of Sgt Vusi Mabena is loaded aboard an Ukrainian An-26 in Goma, DRC for repatriation back to South Africa.
Sgt Mabena was the Flight Engineer aboard the SAAF Oryx helicopter operating a UN MONUSCO mission on 5 Feb when near Goma, it was hit by a single bullet.
Maj O Matlapeng, the aircraft Commander, was hit in the shoulder and is recovering after being operated on, leaving the co-pilot Capt R Allan to land safely at Goma Airport.
RIP Sir, you died so others may live.

I still say its Rwanda written allover it... I don't know if this is above my pay-grade as a taxpayer, but there should be a follow-up operation. I mean, its clear that these guys are getting confident... as I said before, they have the weapons and skills to down a Rooivalk.. imagine if that happens, it is a bad PR the SANDF and the SA arms industry cannot recover from.

It's a safety pin. There was one time during training that a course mate stomach was torn by a 7.62 X 51mm blank ammunition from an FN FAL. There was no safety pin on his gun. Things like these prevent those incidents.

These are the Falcon Eye's Coastal Sensor sites, with X band radar, Long range Electro optic system and VHF radio. The only one of its kind in Africa.

Using these sensors and control system, the Navy was able to quickly respond, and rescue the crew.

There are about 25 sites across the coastline of Nigeria

It's a BFA (blank firing adapter) you use it to prevent an accidental discharge of live round/fragments of blank rounds.

To all those questioning Nigeria’s inactivity in regards to the Turkish/Syrian Earthquake relief efforts and claiming Nigeria is unable to organize or fund assistance you should know this.

Nigeria has been organizing & participating in relief efforts, peacekeeping missions, and other humanitarian endeavors across Africa especially in the West for decades.

Africa is Nigeria’s general focal point.
Turkey is simply outside of Nigeria’s scope of interest and the current regime is speculating if such a venture is worth the brownie points for an effort that’s likely best used within its on staunch sphere.
