Nigerian navy sbs

It seems the Nigerian Air Force is gradually replacing the FN FAL & AK-47 with the CTAR-21 across the board.

They got f_cked up sad

Rhodesian engineers discovered that, despite what Panhard says, the vehicle is not resistant to 7.62 at under 50m - even frontally sad

What shocked me is that when KDF pulled out of other exposed FOBs in the aftermath, the abandoned a WZ which AS was then parading around

I suppose you mean it isn't cost effective. Where would militaries in Africa get the money to finance outposts like that. That particular US military outpost cost nothing short of $15 - 20 million to construct.

It is great, but where would the money come from, are we going to sh1t $20 million for every El adde and Doron-Baga. When we are done building at this cost, would we then kneel down, pray to God to give us money for Ammo, equipment and APC because we have invested all our money in building 4 outposts?

What we should do is to develop cost effective military solutions to our monumental problems, just as the Russians did in Syria and not to fight wars like the US or it's NATO allies, who even by the way do not even have the money to fund their militaries like the U.S. The U.S contributes 73% of all NATO funding.
I do not see anything expensive in the structure of that outpost, in the case of Nigeria one could use oil barrel painted in camouflage pattern in place of the bastions the Americans used, Troops could be made to do most of the work there. The only expensive thing about the American outpost is the high tech systems inside. One cannot ignore the importance of such a military outpost In a violence prone area to protect the civil populace there especially now that we are talking about returning people to the areas liberated from the insurgents. We will need outpost like this and even more to carry out patrol in resettled areas, relate with the people and try to gather Intel on the activities of remnant terror cells in the area, we of course know that some of the people that will be coming back to the liberated area would be persons working for terrorists, so without an outpost like this with the capacity for quick response how do we plan to protect some of this areas.

leaving from those numerous firing points which offered protection to those WZ and PUMA M26 MRAP ,was just running on open field with bullets flying from every direction .half of them were not manned (WZ and PUMA),I think i saw a Panhard AML-60 but not among those destroyed or captured

I saw the video of the base attack

Most of the base seemed unaffected after the VBID attack, there were at least 2 Panhard AML's and one WZ still running around during the battle, with the inner defences still intact.

It was simply a question of a poorly constructed base and poor intelligence (they should have had OP's out) and perhaps a lack of certain fundamental drills (dawn/dusk stand-to) and no fire support. But that is just guess work from me watching a one-sided propaganda video

But yes I agree, in the 15-20 min it would have taken air-support to arrive the AS fighters would have been inside the base allready.

Obviously having a huge VBID go off will cause massive confusion at first, but if everyone knows where to go it shouldent be a problem for more than 10min. But, on the otherhand, I think it was Napoleon who said that a battle can be lost in a single minute.

But I know that the Kenyan MOD will scrutinize the video and makes the necessary changes

Please can you post a link to the video

i read a news article there were some nigeria troop who couldn't get suppliers because boko haram kept placing IED's on routes they used, thats the same tactic alshabaab is doing.during the afghan and iraq war due to the threat of constant IED attacks american were even forced resupply some outpost using helicopters, even troop movement.this basically what boko haram is plotting ,you continue taking more territory and then they start overrunning those isolated outposts

Algeria to deploy 304 Russian BMP-2M fitted with Berezhok combat module

All 304 BMP-2 vehicles have received four ready-to-launch 9M133 Kornet-E (NATO reporting name: AT-14 Spriggan) anti-tank guided missiles. Approximately 685 non-upgraded BMP-1 have been issued to the unit and bodies of Land Forces. According to a Russian defense industry source, all Algerian BMP-1 IFVs are going to be upgraded to BMP-2M standart. As the IISS` specialists pointed out, Algeria has received 100 BMP-3infantry fighting vehicles but there is no official confirmation of such information.

B05Ya01 Berezhok manned turret developed by Tula-based KBP company (a subsidiary of the High-Precision Weapons holding) is the latest upgrade of the basic BMP-2`s combat module. It incorporates 30mm 2A42 automatic gun as a main weapon with coaxial 7.62mm PKT/PKTM machinegun. B05Ya01 is equipped with anti-tank guided missiles, namely, four ready-to-launch 9M133 Kornet-E ATGMs.

The module has also received 30mm AG-30 automatic grenade launcher (AGL) and six 902B Tucha smoke grenade launchers. 2A42 gun can fire armor-piercing and high-explosive shells, being able to destroy targets at the distances up to 2000 m and 4000 m, respectively.

The gun has ammunition load of 500 shells. AG-30 AGL can fire three types of grenades, namely, VOG-17M, VOG-30, GPD-30, being able to destroy personnel targets at the distances up to 1700-2100 m. Berezhok can fire five types of Kornet munitions, namely anti-tank tandem-warhead 9M133-1/9M133-2 and anti-personnel thermobaric 9M133F-1/9M133F-2/9M133F-3 missiles. Kornet -E ATGMs can penetrate 1000-1300mm armour behind explosive reactive armour (ERA), being able to eliminate targets at the distances up to 5500 m.

B05Ya01 is equipped with independent sights of commander and gunner, allowing them to work in 'hunter-killer' mode. The gunner`s sight has four channels: optical, thermal imaging, laser rangefinder and ATGM control channel. The commander has received panoramic sight with laser rangefinder and television channel. Berezhok can be installed on either BMP-1 or BMP-2 IFVs.

It should be noted, the Algeria is one of the biggest Kornet-E (E stands for Export Modification, Ekspornty) ATGM operator in the world. The country has deployed 64 upgraded BRDM-2M self-propelled anti-tank guided missile (SPATGM) systems armed with Kornet-Es.

We learn every day, not one person knows all there is to know about guns or the military. I also learn everyday. However the military and guns habit is an "online habit" i enjoy.

Its a nice "online habit", not so much in reality. 99% of the people in real-life would think its downright weird and unusual.
