Tdayof, my new favourite patrol vessel is coming soon.

I really want the navy to go into stealth. RAM/(Design) deflection of EM waves is enough. They can leave acoustic and thermal stealth for now.

Mech section has the 2ib in charge of the mag crew. Give him something to do instead of shouting a the poor gunners ! PAW would be great for target identification as well as suppressive fire. 40mm is great, but you can only carry so much of it. Put 2x MGL gunners in your weapons section.

Let me throw another spanner in the works. How about replacing grandpa's 50cal on your MOT vehicles with the gun the krauts were firing at him? The GI1 20mm. Specifically the GAMA multi caliber model Denel developed. You can still train with cheap 12.7mm ammo, but deploy with 20mm. Big force multiplier over the 50.

Click below for a PDF on the development of the GAMA.

What about a dismounted section? The flat trajectory of the 20x42mm Inkunzi PAW is supposedly better than the 40mm Y2. So where do you sacrifice?

Nota Bene: I have absolutely no problems with the future employment of the Inkunzi Strike - belt fed automatic vehicle mounted (61 Mech optimised grin grin grin!); nor of the Truvelo 20x42mm CMS (hell, the Recces already have it in their arsenal).

What does one do with the Inkunzi PAW? Excellent weapon, yes. 2 Middle East countries have bought it, yes. But they're not the crowd to develop doctrine! EU/NATO countries are looking at it as an alternative to the very expensive XM-25, yes.

Still doesn't solve the tactical/doctrinal conundrum for the SANDF.

Back to reality because the country is Nigeria ?? Are you saying RAM is above Nigeria capability?? Oh yes Ram may be what of shaping??
MAGRAM will be the best Nigeria can work on presently. With extensive R&grin funding will also be needed. The only issue they may be having is how effective the RAM is but combining with proper RCS design, they'll achieve proper Stealth to some extent.

That's not a priority. Our priority is to build as many vessels as we can, dominate our waters and move from there. We already have 2 stealth ships.

The speed of NNS Karaduwa compliments whatever stealth feature it can possibly have. Besides, we are building our military production capacity.

8 years ago we didn't build sh*t, today we manufacture MRAPs, armoured vehicles, ships, UAVs, Unmanned Ground Vehicles, soldier kits, Helicopter diaphrams, military uitility vehicles, Rockets. Etc etc, and even export.

This year alone companies from Nigeria participated in AAD and IDEAS defence exhibitions. That's progress.

I'm sure you saw the photos shared from the Air Force R& D expo, if we can do all these under 8 years, stealth tech would come eventually. It's not a priority, we are currently investing at our core priorities.

Really, people should learn to accept a contrary opinion!!

Leave it vehicle mounted. It'll outrange everyone elses .50s and 14.5s while having a rooftop height advantage unlike static employment. Its no deux es machina but properly used with other arms allows a platoon some serious hurt.
