RED HOT recently announced the tracklist for their upcoming FELA KUTI tribute album titled RED HOT + FELA. The compilation is set to have various contemporary musicians and recording artists pay homage to the late great Fela Kuti, who unexpectedly passed away in 1997.

FELA is easily referred to as a legend in Nigeria considering how he vehemently spoke out against the ills of the government when he was alive, with his music: he was more of a social activist than most social commentators of our days put together.

The album features thirteen Fela tracks, all remade by popular artist from the likes of legendary Afrobeat pioneer Tony Allen, fellow drummer ?uestlove of The roots, TV On The Radio members, Baloji, Nneka, Spoek Mathambo,Zaki Ibrahim, and Angelique Kidjo

Listen to one of the tracks of the album that features ?uesto, Tuneyards, Angelique Kidjo, and Akua Naura; a master blend of Afrobeats, Afrojazz and rap. Album will be dropping sometime in October under Knitting Factory Records.
