disqualified after a false start in her women's
400 metres hurdles heat during the IAAF World
Athletics Championships at the Luzhniki
Stadium in Moscow August 12, 2013...


The Alabama-based hurdler and national record holder
was expected to make it to the finals; however, she
crashed out in the first round due to the error.
Czech runner, Zuzana Hejnova, finally won the Heat 2
with a time of 55.25 seconds.

Muizat Ajoke Odumosu (born on 27 October
1987 in Lagos) is a Nigerian track and field athlete
specialising in the 400 metres and the 400 metres
hurdles.
2008: represented Nigeria at the Summer Olympics
2007 and 2009: competed at the World
Championships in Athletics
2007: the bronze medallist at the All-Africa Games
2008: the continental champion with a win at the
African Championships.
2010: the gold medal in the 400 metres hurdles at the
Commonwealth Games; runner-up at the African
Championships; a silver medal for Africa at the
Continental Cup.
She still holds the Nigerian record in the 400 m
hurdles, after improving on her personal best to 54.40
seconds during the 2012 London Olympics semi-
finals.
Born in Lagos, Odumosu attended Toybat High before
moving to the United States to study at the University
of South Alabama.
