WINNING EACH DAY DEVOTIONAL

2Cor 2:14 And thanks be to God who ALWAYS causes us to triumph...

DO NOT LISTEN TO THE LIAR!

Memory verse: John 8:44 He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

You have no excuse to be discouraged or depressed. That situation might appear impossible right now but He who has helped you on six occasions will not leave you on the seventh! Israel was faced with an impossible situation in 1 Sam 17; they were going to be taken into captivity if they fought and lost to the Philistines.

It is amazing that a whole nation suffered from amnesia at the same time. They all conveniently forgot the dire situations God had saved them from in time past which is what most believers do today - they forget all that God has done for them as soon as a new challenge surfaces.

David refused to join the rest of Israel in their pity party. He had a memory and he put it to good use. He brought out his résumé and began recounting all that God had done through him in the past.

You must learn to build up from the last hope; what was the last thing the devil said was not possible which turned out to be? Go back and say “Devil, you said this would not be possible but it was and if you lied and failed the first time, you will surely fail again. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever and in this case, you are also the same yesterday, today and forever- you failed yesterday and you will definitely fail again today.”

The devil said you would not go to the university but you did. He said you would not graduate but you did and now he is saying that you will not get a good job. Why would you believe him when he has been lying to you all along?

He said you would not marry but you did and now he is saying you will remain childless. Do not believe him; He is a liar! The God in the mountain is the same in the valley. The God who was there during the good times is also present now that you are going through tough times. God, who delivered you in six troubles, will show up the seventh time. He is not tired of helping you nor has He run out of resources to do so!

CONFESSION: I am coming out of this situation stronger, better and wiser!

PRAYER: I will continually abide in hope in Jesus' name.
