What do you think, is the adoption of Ifrs really a good idea ??
It is a good and fantastic idea.It enhances nd promotes international transactions. It also aids foreign investment nd allows investors to comprehend how financial statements of different countries are being structured. It is like the unification of myriads of language of different countries into coherent one.Which means ifrs is trying to promote the says that"Accounting is the language of business"In the sense that everybody irrespective of your country, will understand the language of business(financial statements) being prepared in other parts of the world.

Very bright future provided we work towards integrity and hard work, most nigerian accountants have been known to be in the field for financial gains through creative accounting, this has painted the field of accounting black in Nigeria and can only be corrected if we work for the love of the accounting profession and not for selfish gains.

Also nigerian accountants have to meet up with advanced standards, when you compare accounting profession in Nigeria to some other countries, you would find out we have a lot to improve on, however I still believe accountants in Nigeria has a bright future.

Great! As per the standards,we have a long way to go.professional accountants bodies in this country have to ensure that proper and full implementation of current standards should be sped-up.It is degrading that most tertiary institutions offering accounting as a course are yet to introduce current standards as course of its own. They should endeavour introduce students of accounting to standards(IFRS) from their first year in the school. This will make it easier for them to grasp the full concept of standards(IFRS) when writing professional exams.Because I don't know how a student who have not been introduced to standards before will be able to cope when writing professional exams(ICAN) within the short period of time to cover the voluminious syllabus.

you are 100% right, accounting freshers need to be introduced to IFRS in other not for them to struggle later on.
