Hmmmm....pot calling the kettle black... Is that a blue whale? You need to get an education before jumping to conclusion. Couldn't you just say a whale is a mammal and not a fish?...why the extras? On topic...recently many whales are either washing ashore/ beaching themselves/swimming and getting stranded up rivers.Something in the oceans is affecting them...maybe chemicals/toxic waste dumped in the oceans.People need to think twice before eating this meat...may affect them in the long run.

If it were in a country with better scientific resources and where food is not a problem, that whale carcass would be taken to an animal laboratory and an autopsy would be conducted on it to ascertain the cause of its death.

But since dead whale happen to find itself in Nigerian beach, it would have been dismembered by now and portions of its flesh and even bone would be in people's pots and fridge waiting to be eaten.

We don't seem to care if the poor animal's demise may have been due to pollution or an accident or old age. All the people around that area will be more concerned about is eating the dead animal. Nobody wants to learn any lesson that may be learned.

I hope and pray that one day food, especially meat or fish, will not be a problem for Nigerians.

not sure it is a BLUE whale, pictures i have seen of blue whales don't have those bumps on the mouth; maybe a humpback whale; but definitely a baleen whale

If this is a fish,
Then it must be called a mighty fish,
Well, it might not be 100% right calling it fish instead of whales.

Of a truth,
One man cannot carry an elephants' meat.
Re: Giant Fish Washes-up On Alpha Beach by idupaul: 7:51am On Aug 28, 2013
Nairaland please not all whales are a blue whales .. That's definitely a smaller specie of a baleen class whale. My guess will be a hump back because they are known to breed in the west african coast of the Atlantic..
