Rooney to chelsea transfer saga is finally over to the amusement of all united fans worldwide, so the self proclaimed "special one" has lost the first battle.

Jose claimed that Rooney was his only transfer target, that it was Rooney or no one else, which turned out to be a lie, in a summer where he could not stop talking about Man United and Moyes, using his clearly ineffective mind game to try and unsettle Moyes and his dressing room.
Jose Mourinho went as cheap as claiming that Rooney wants to leave Man United because of Moyes's comment about him and RVP, ignoring what Sir Alex said about Rooney before he retired, he also said united should sell Rooney to chelsea, that not selling to your rival club is "old fashioned".
Mourinho finally handed Rooney an ultimatum, effectively giving the 27-year-old 48hours to make up his mind about whether he wanted to stay at United or force a switch to Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho really put himself out there with his statement that implied Rooney needed to hand in a written transfer request at Old Trafford to get the move off the ground but it seems the player had other ideas.
After all the umming and aaahing this summer, it now looks most likely that Wayne Rooney will stay at Manchester United where he could even sign a new contract over the course of the season and the only loser in the situation is a
certain special one.
