For a over Two Decades on Earth,i hhave strongly witness how people from the West take baby naming ceremony so dearly compared to Ndi igbo and i always ponder why?
is there any traditional influence that instigate igbo to pay little or No interest to Naming ceremony.moreso is if the child is a Female.
Igbos it beyond just a few people in ur Parlour but Canopies shud be used if ur strength carries it

Nigeria recognises Place of Origin but western Countries like USA,LONDON,etc recognises Place of Birth too.

Igbos do not have a ceremnony where they name their children. They just name them. The ceremony Igbos have concerning children is "I kuputa nwa". This cermony is usually done from when the baby is 3 months and above. No stipulation for it to be be a big party. Most times, Igbos just do thanksgiving in Church and that is it.
