The logo and mascot for the 2013 NUGA games have now been unveiled.

After the long wait for the real date for the commencement of the 24th edition of the Nigerian University Games (NUGA), the vice chancellor of the host university, Prof. Bamitale Omole said in a press conference with newsmen at the ceremony held to unveil the logo and mascot of the games that the games will now come up starting from October 2, 2013.

He added at the Obafemi Awolowo University guest house in Lagos that the school is well equipped and necessary infrastructures are already in place to ensure the successful hosting of the games. He also appreciated the government and private bodies for their support for the games.

It will be recalled that the games should have come up year 2012 but due to the 50th anniversary of the citadel of learning, it was postponed.

The way I dey look this strike e, e bi like say FGN don swear not to give in to ASUU demand, and the latter on the other hand don swear not compromise their stand by sheilding their swords. Is either one surrender for one or else this strike go enter into a very long thing..even pass that Oct 2

This is a horrible logo. Absolutely horrible. It looks more like a masquerade or a fetish object than a mascot.

Mascot is not all about brighter colours its all about the story behind it.
With my lil understanding, that mascot represent a deity (Oduduwa) and Osun State where the School in situated is indigeniously rigid in Tradition so they couldn't have came up with a better mascot.

NTA Ibadan used this exact Logo so...
Stop Hating or do youself a favour with #10 Hypo.

I don't wanna miss this Games. ASUU abeg o. I may never have another chance to attend any. Never had any tho. #TeamOAU And for all those grumbling about the aesthetic quality of the logo, an ugly logo doesnt necessarily mean an ugly tournament. Likewise, it doesnt follow that a Games is beautiful or colourful because of its logo. Trusting OAU for a successful NUGA Games tho. #IRepOAU

Those of you saying the mascot is not fine,i really wonder what you want to see.The ideal is that the mascot should reflect & reveal a bit of information about the host.Your so-called 'masqurade' is known in yoruba history as 'ori olokun'.You will see the same statue on entering the school just after the gate,at basement of Oduduwa hall,even is on the school e-portal.So,this is a mascot with local content,which represents the history of OAU (Oba Awon University).Great Ife for live.
