The attention of football fans across the African continent will be focused squarely on the Confederation of African Football (CAF) headquarters in Cairo, Egypt on Monday as the 10 countries that have qualified for the final play off stage of the qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup get to know their final opponents before booking their final tickets to the South American country.

The 10 countries that have made it to the play off stage are African champions Nigeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Tunisia, Ghana, Egypt, Cameroun, Ethiopia, Senegal, Burkina Faso and Algeria.

All the teams have just 180 minutes of football action each to determine their final fate but on rare occasions that any of these encounters enter into extra time and possibly penalty kicks to determine which one of them will have the honour of booking flights for next summer’s World Cup finals taking place in Brazil.

Already, FIFA has announced that top five African countries on its ranking will be seeded which implies that they will first play away to countries they are paired with, before coming back home to finalize the qualifiers. The seeded teams will be in pot one while the unseeded teams will be in port two. The seeded teams are Nigeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Tunisia, Algeria and Ghana while the unseeded teams are Ethiopia, Cameroun, Egypt, Burkina Faso and Senegal.
