Group Sues ASUU Over Strike by ifeanyija(m): 8:15pm On Sep 21, 2013
Poverty Alleviation Advocacy and Justice Initiative (PAAJI) a Civil Society Organisation has dragged the Academic Staff Union of universities (ASSU) before the National Industrial Court over what its describe as illegal and arbitrary strike action.

PAAJI an originating summons filed on the 16th September, is seeking the court to determine whether or not in pursuant to section 254C-(1) (j) and (v) the university lecturers can declare a strike over purported breach of a memorandum of agreement by the federal government. The group in is also seeking the court to award exemplary and special damages against the ASUU for violation and frustration of students’ constitutional right to be educated. ASUU chairman, Mr. Nasir Fagge Isa, and all chapter chairmen of the union were named as defendants in the suit.

There was a university dat went on strike 4 a year or 2 still govt met their needs nw dat schl has d best structure nd nigerians r much in dat schl I think its ghana or so can't remember d name. The tin with nigerians is dat we don't want development nd don't like it wen sum1 tries to fight just to get it. Y sue assu nd not gej? Nice development. I don't care if they are been sponsored by FG or not, all i am concerned about is that enough is enough!!! I have problem with ASUU going on that strike in the first place, so i will support any action against the strike to end it. And you FG, your own case na sorry... i dey come

sometimes when i see people blame ASUU, i just wonder, is it that these people are daft or they are just been pathetic, while sue people for fighting for there rights, why not sue the FG for not paying them, arent they entitled to it, same goes to that old man that sued them, whatever could be the reason for them to wake up one day and think the next thing to do is SUE!! Why not sue the Federal Government for not meeting up with their demands. Have you ask ur father or uncle who is a poliitician how many money were them they get in each meeting not to talk of allowances?

Govt have given ASUU some money to be completed next year january. Guy this strike will destroy education in nigeria
