THE WONDERS OF THANKSGIVING



1 Thes 5:18 (MSG)

Thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live.



From our text scripture it's so obvious that God wants us to be thankful. I realise however that more people are ungrateful than those who are. In Luke 17 Jesus was amazed that only one person out of ten individuals came back when he realised that he was healed to say thank you. We need to learn to thank God for His goodness in our lives. When He causes us to shine, let us point people to Him, for there is nothing we have that we did not receive (John 3:27).





Thanksgiving is God’s will for your life. Give thanks to God in all situations. Don’t thank him for bad things – that is unscriptural. Thank Him because of His abiding presence with you in that situation. Thank Him because you are coming out victorious.



Every time you thank God for the small things you see, they become big (John 6:11). We need to learn to thank God even for the ‘small things’ on a regular basis. Don’t focus so much on the things that are not working so well, focus on the things that are working for you – this will cause a tremendous release in your spirit and it will move the HEART OF GOD. Thanksgiving brings multiplication (Jeremiah 30:19): God will cause glory (bring to the peak of maturity) to manifest in the lives of those who thank HIM.



Thanksgiving magnifies God over your situation (Psalm 69:30). It causes Him to focus on that situation. God’s presence is everywhere, but His manifest presence isn’t everywhere. When you praise God, you invite His manifest presence to overwhelm your circumstance. The presence of God in a man’s life is what sets him apart. God's presence will give you rest (Exodus 33:14).



PRAYER: Thank You Lord for the gift of life, the gift of family, the gift of a hope and a future.
