black_beau: In the best of your interest,if you have an emergency,go to a private hospital or any of the above listed but not National Hospital but if you have a case that is not an emergency, then please go to National Hospital.I'm speaking as an insider in National Hospital.and for the people mentioning Zankli, stop misleading people. Zankli will just charge you exhorbitantly and then bring a quater of what they charged you to National Hospital so that National Hospital will end up running the tests for Zankli. For example, they charge 15k for histology tests while National Hospital charges 5k so they'll bring the sample to NHA and pay 5k,taking 10k for themselves for doing nothing
then that is no hospital at all

Abuja Clinics just have structures but with inept hands especially the doctors, they committed a terrible mistake in me that makes me shed tears anytime i remember it but i ve left them to God.
National Hospital have the equipments but without staff to handle them, they don't have specialists in some areas like the neuro, as of when i was i patient there and their nurses are very saucy.
I can go to Federal staff clinic at Idu, their services are good. I hail the management.

Looks good from the structure but it is kind of hidden. Here is the correct website address: http://www.nizamiyehospital.com/

imranay: shocked Seriously? No nairalander heard of Nizamiye Hospital?

Visit the website www.nizamiyehosptal.com
Then you will see that there is no need to travel abroad for medical treatment anymore...

As a staff of National Hospital, and having previously worked in private hospitals, I know the whole deal. Private hospitals focus on maximizing profit, so they buy substandard drugs, employ inexperienced doctors. They can't afford to employ consultants, so they negotiate with them to do part time. So the patients get to see incompetent doctors most times, and treatment is trial and error. I know because I worked there. But the customer service is superb, so patients feel satisfied. Also, when they receive bad cases, they keep them in a bid to milk them dry of their money. When they realize the patients will die or realize they have mismanaged the patient, they refer to National Hospital because they don't want mortality in their hospitals. So the public erroneously believe National Hospital is the problem.
National Hospital's main problem is the fact that the patient load is much, so the staff are overworked. Patient and relatives fail to realize that fact, so they shout on staff unnecessarily. Overworked staff reply angrily and this is seen as rudeness. However, because of the shortage of staff, mistakes and negligence are bound to happen occasionally with patient at the the receiving end. But if you need to access specialists care, teaching hospitals including National Hospital are the best.

This happens because many people come too late after they might have gone to several hospitals.

You are quite correct, nothing gives me confidence than seeing a team of about 15 doctors coming for ward round with about 4 Chief consultants amongst them. They may have their short -comings though but the place is not as bad as people may want us to believe. For your information am currently using the place so I know what am talking about, the charges are exorbitant but they know what they are doing.

PLS WHERE IS IT LOCATED?

Jeez, u paid 2.5million naira for what at national hospital, u must have stayed there for months or years, national hospital is one of the cheapest hopsital in nigerian, Nigerians na wa oh.

And when you say hospitals, not every hospital is bad, yes the standard can't be compared with those abroad, that doesn't mean our hospitals don't treat people, they still do, meanwhile one of the disadvantage of general hospitals is negligence to work, strikes and the fact that most of the consultants have their own private clinics where they bill people so they pay little attention to their jobs in the general hospitals.

Re: 5 Abuja Hospitals You Should Know About by Zealoy(m): 10:14am On Nov 27, 2013
tkconcept: pls mentioning abuja national hospital has made nonsense of ur list. That hospital is bewitched. Everyone who goes there with an emergency hhardly makes it out alive. Not to mention other terminal ailments that can be well handled in smaller hospitals. Common hiv test mite take you two whole days before u can get ur result, by which time u wud av done thje same test and gotten ur result in two other labs or hospitals. That place needs to b supervised.
you are right oo! De woman i toke there yesterday @ emergency died! My hospital susan clinic refared her there but she didnt make it.

People dont know atimes the services that are been rendered by some of this hospital but in my own case i am a staff of www.garkihospital.com abuja, people come here from abroad for kidney transplants and so on, this hospital offers open heart suggeries . its just that a times people
prefer to go to abroad for this things but believe there are still good hospitals and good Doctors in Nigeria.
we have one of the best Doctors in NIgeria in our Hospital
stagger:
Why would someone come here to start advertising for these govt hospitals? Is this coming from personal experience or is someone paying fr some exposure? Indeed, with the Indian embassy issuing 18,000 medical visas last year, I really do not know what impact these hospitals are having when the rich have no confidence in them.
Re: 5 Abuja Hospitals You Should Know About by deesdee: 3:40pm On Jun 01, 2015
people to go germany and die there, the fact that people always die in National Hospital or any hospital doesnt mean the hospital in npt a good hospital. sometimes people dont go to hospital untill their illness get worst. in www.garkihospital.com Abuja we offer openheart suggeries and kidney transplant, people come even from abroad for this services and its because we have one of the best doctors in our hospital.

People should stay away from nisa hospital. They killed my unborn baby at 6 months . My baby would have been 5 weeks old now.

They claim to be one of the best in Abuja, I guess they are leaving on past glory.

All they care about is money .

Queens clinic limited located in Abuja is the best especially in pediatric and child birth, they have professional staff from the doctors, surgeons, nurses, laboratory scientists and their ever welcoming and friendly front desk staffs. I and my family use them, and they are very affordable. i truly enjoy their services.
