Africa, the land blessed with “milk and honey”, a continent blessed with diverse culture and known for its outstanding qualities. The continent “Africa”, blessed among other continent, despite her struggles to survive and shortcomings have strive so hard to put her name on the world map.

The fact that civilization began or originated from Africa is no more a news. Civilization began in Egypt, in a rapid state. The earliest history of man (Australopithecus) can be traced to Tanzania in Africa.

The Egyptians introduced the first form of writing known as hieroglyphic and was later change to hieratic. Hieroglyphic is the use of pictorial character to write or represent words. They also invented the best form of irrigation known as Sha-doof. This form of irrigation is a counter-balanced sweep which has been in use since ancient times. Also, the building of the pyramids involved great mathematical calculations not to talk of the the rapid growth in research; Egyptians preserved bodies of Pharaoh and top officials by mummification for research purpose. Some other ancient discoveries by Egyptians include; introducing the first calender, use of chariots for war, discovering copper etc.

The diversity in cultural heritage or values attracts most tourist from all around the world, this is one of Africa's source of pride. From North to South and from East to West, Africa possesses different norms and tradition in dance, language, food, lifestyle, believes etc. In dancing, the ability to move one's body; fingers, toes and waist to the rhythm of music is a thing of amusement, using local drums as musical instruments. In food/cuisine, you can feel the sensational tastes in locally made food. Most foods are prepared using ingredients like millet, grains, yams etc. to prepare different delicacies by different people e.g. the South African Morogo, Boerewors, etc, the Nigerian Gbegiri that goes well with Amala when served with Ewedu soup, and not forgetting Tuwo Shinkafa, Kunun Aya etc. Kenyan Ugali is a cornmeal starch made into a thick paste that goes well with any kind of meat stew. Other Kenyan dishes include; Maharagwe, Nyama Choma, Sukuma Wkik, etc. Africa exports most of her agricultural produce to other parts of the world with unfavorable weather, soil or for any other reasons. In language, despite the introduction of other languages by the colonial masters, Africa still remains rich in her diversification in language of over 3000 e.g. Yoruba, Hausa, Ibo etc in Nigeria, Swahili in South Africa and so many other languages like Somali, Oromo, etc. There are several sign languages associated with Africa such as whistling and drumming. In lifestyle, the use of locally made textile materials like Ankara, Lace, Asooke, Kente
Danshiki, Agbada and more from other countries are widely used in making cloths of different kinds.

Africa is the center of the world tourist attraction. One cannot easily overlook the beauty of the wildlife, the great man-made structures and others. Africa is so blessed with wildlife ranging from the crawling ant to the leaping antelope, elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, monkeys etc, located in different countries of the continent. Not to forget the top tourist attractions in Africa like the Victoria falls lying in between Zambia and Zimbabwe in Southern Africa which comprises of two national parks; Mosi-oa-Tunya National park in Zambia and Victoria falls National park in Zimbabwe. The Masai Mara National Reserve (Wildlife Park) located in southwestern part of Kenya was established to protect the wildlife from hunters. The Djenne Mosque located on an island in the Niger River Delta, which is a center of Islamic learning. The magnificent and beautiful city of Cape Town in South Africa with a huge slab of sandstone situated in the middle of the town. The tallest free standing mountain in Africa, Mountain Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, which will take you at least six days to the top. The pyramids and sphinx in Egypt are the last surviving structures of the seven wonders of the ancient world with three pyramids; the great pyramid of Khufu, the pyramid Menkaura, and the pyramid of Kafhre, which all contains tombs of Egyptian pharaoh.
