Great Ijebuites........Comment if you
are Proud of Ijebu.

Hehehehehe
I hope some people are reading the highlighted claims grin grin grin
Small time some of you will start making fun of Igbos that claim Israeli affiliation
Ijebus also claim the same
Oya nu,while I find most of those claims above quite outlandish
But true true Ijebus are shrewd businessmen like igbos
I've noticed that most Yorubas I get along very well with have turned out to be Ijebu
I find them more genuine
They seem to be the most hardworking in that area and they are not afraid of competition or outsiders
No wonder other Yorubas speak ill of them

Like Igbos they are also very proud of their Ijebu ethnicity and wear it proudly
Like Igbos they are daring and adventurous
They don't wait around for civil service work ,an Ijebu man will come to Owerri, set up a private school and marry an Owerri woman and live there
They are not as fearful as the other men from their region
They don't go around crying about Lagos and fighting people for it,they are not afraid of competing with their fellow men
They are good in the bad stuff too
Na dem be headquarters for juju

If I ever considered a Yorubaman,he had to be Ijebu

I can assure you Eko Ile,Eko Atlantic, dayokanu,Ola Johnson, geez ,last page and the other noisemakers are not Ijebu
Neither are the female Almajiri like desolate and Ileke eediot
Let them prove me wrong

The ijebus are known for their business acumen which dated back to the early nineteenth century, and according to the testimony of contemporary observers of that time, a child is expected to have known the value of money and have attributes of a trader from age twelve.
The Yoruba people are very enterprising set of people who are self-reliant and innovative. By the middle of the nineteenth century, the Ijebus had become the major mover in the business world, and they have become more prosperous not only terms of understanding the dynamics of the emerging modern facilities, but also in terms of physical and social infrastructures. In those days, it is on record that the houses and streets of ijebu people were superior to those of the surrounding people and communities. They cultivated their lands adequately bred high-breed farm animals and were the first and foremost self-sufficient. The excess proceeds from their sundry efforts were spread around their neighborhoods. The ijebu people are generally noted for their intelligence and integrity.

The greatest economic asset of Ijebuland throughout the nineteenth century and far into the present century was timber on which 19th century Lagos depended and the major source of wealth of the first generation of the noveaux riches in ijebuland. The European observers found them more intelligent that the other Yoruba groups are described in the following phrase: “They are remarkable as a race for their integrity to a fault”.

Hmm
No be me write am o
These people are so similar to Igbos wallahi
Except Igbos don't party like them

An index of the growth, prosperity and tranquility of nineteenth century Ijebuland was the systematic organization of age grade known as Regberegbes every three years with tiles reflecting significant events. They constitute a major instrument of social cohesion and mobilization in ijebuland.

OMG
They also have age grade system like Igbos
Do they also celebrate new yam festival?
