Do BORN AGAIN People Still Commit Sin? by DoctorStephen(m): 11:59am On Oct 02, 2013
Do born again people sin? If after you claim you are born again, you sin,are you still born again? The born again people, are they the preachers, the choir members, the ushers, those who pay tithe, and take the holy communion, those who do good?
To the wise let the Bible answer them: "Whosoever is born of God (born again) doth not commit sin;for his seed remaineth in him:and he cannot sin, because he is born of God." 1John3:9
If you still commit sin,you are NOT born again, and are a child of the devil;but there is salvation in Christ to deliver you from sin and make you born again.
Read John 3:3,16, Matthew 1:21, and Romans 10:8-11
God bless you.

you are one of the most shallow Christian I have ever come across...you don't understand what it means to be born again... that you are born again doesn't mean you can't mistakenly sin...there is a difference between a sinner and a Christian that sinned mistakenly. really wish to have a vocal chat with you to help you correct some doctrinal errors. God bless you.

the bible makes it clear that if u have christ u are free from sin cause u are already washed clean wit the blood of Yeshua and he carries all ur sins. so by the words of the bible, u are born again in Yahweh and we all know Yahweh doesnt sin, he makes the rules. so if an acclaimed born again commits sin, it only means u were never born again. And theres no such thing as a mistaken sin. we all have the knowledge of good and bad so if a christian sinned it only means he never had christ, or isnt strong in christ, afterall Yeshua never sinned.

When a righteous man sins, the Lord says, his righteousness is forgotten, just as a sinner's sins are forgotten.
However I think it's high time we stopped deceiving ourselves and being deceived. The degree of our speaking in tongues will not warm a drop of water in heaven.
If you were saved to keep on sinning then your salvation is in vain.
Or do you believe the Bible at all read it yourself.

You don't have to go too far. Ask the Corinthians CHRISTIANS. Were they taught to CONTINUE to sin or in their acts of sin? NO!!!

Why did Jesus Christ teach his disciples how to pray? 'Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.' What does that say to you?
Re: Do BORN AGAIN People Still Commit Sin? by DoctorStephen(m): 5:58am On Oct 03, 2013
Let us make things clear here, if a christian sins, and he dies, will he make it to heaven,at that point?
However,if he repents,he will be forgiven. The point the scriptures is making is that, once you sin,you obeyed the devil.
When you sin, that does not mean, you were never born again, but you have lost the experience. What then needs to be done is to go back to Christ for forgiveness and restoration.
That's why the Bible advices us today to watch and pray; not to continue to sin expecting grace to abound; to examine ourselves whether we are still in the faith.
Let's be sincere with ourselves, the Bible is clear enough.
Let's read 1John2:1, 3:1-10, Ezekiel 3:18-21, Acts17:30
". . God . . now commandeth all men everywhere to repent"

It's like you didn't finish reading the post.My number is right there.
Read the scriptures again for yourself. When born again people sin whether mistakenly or not,he has lost the experience, and must go back to calvary in full repentance.

the fact that we still wallow in sin is based on the fact that we have not been transformed by the renewing of our soul, we have not recognise Jesus as our savior in the sense that he is able to help us overcome sin and all our other shortcomings.

the parable of the prodigal son best fit this issue. the prodigal son left the father just like a sinner that sins too will lose audience with God, but the moment he became conscious of his transgressions, he retraced his step and was welcomed, same thing applies to a child of God that sinned, that doesn't mean he is not born again any longer.

another question I will like to ask is that ......
do we really have genuinely born again christian? because that is where the problem lies.... most of believers these days are believers onto the the miracle, joy riches, and breakthrough Jesus can offer(earthly things) not believers to the holy and pure life he can help us live.(heavenly things) remember the bible says seek ye first the kingdom of God and all other things will be added to it. treasure hunters hunt for treasure in different locations but the few ones that succeed are those with a guide to the location of the treasure same thing applies to us Christians, the guide (Jesus communicating to us through the holy spirit) is highly important.

As believers sin is not an issue for we dont sin because we have the Holy Ghost in our lives. There are many places in the bible which tells us that whatever is born of God cannot sin, this means that whoever is born of God and filled with God has no inclination to sin. This however does not mean that the said believer has no possibility of sinning, for daily experiences proves otherwise.

When we say wood cannot sink in water, it means that wood has no tendency to sink in water and its not the same as wood has absolutely no possibilityof sinking in water. Because if wood is soaked in water for so many days it may sink, or if pressed down by a hand or any object it will sink. Also a believer has no tendency to sin, but there is sure a possibility of sinning if the believer is not walking in the spirit but flesh.

The new life of Christ we received gives us the ability not to be subject to any elemantal forces of the world and ability not to sin, but this is never to mean that the possibility is not there if we fall short of our walk in the spirit. Meanwhile we still need to be careful because, if we are contaminated by the world or tempted by the devil, there is still the possibilty of sinning. Not one believer can reach a position of not being tempted, therefore good discernment, watchfulness, prayer, and sometimes fasting are necessary that he may know how to walk according to the Holy Spirit.

The bible says walk in the spirit that you might not gratify the lust of the flesh, and if we live in the spirit let us therefore walk in the spirit Galatians 5:16 & 25

No one born (begotten) of God [deliberately, knowingly, and [h] habitually] practices sin, for God's nature abides in him [His principle of life, the divine sperm, remains permanently within him]; and he cannot practice sinning because he is born (begotten) of God.

1John 3:9 (Amplified bible)

1. You know that this doctrine that being born-again equates being set free from slavery to sin is not at all scripture, given that in the entire context of John 3 vs 1 - 21 where Jesus Christ fully addressed the subject, He never once mentioned anything about freedom from sin or sinlessly in connection with the process? undecided

OP, did you know that all those who will eventually find themselves in Eternal damnation have one thing in common with all those who will find themselves in Eternal Reward and that one thing is that they are all of them born-again? Yes, those destined for eternal damnation along with all those destined for eternal reward are all born-agains meaning that they all have eternal life to spend in either of those two places. So, do not for one moment assume you can get away from sin simply by acquiring eternal life - Matthew 25 vs 31 - 46. undecided

Rather, as Jesus Christ instead explained, the only way to be set free from slavery to sin is through continuous submission and obedience to the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ, God's Law and Truth in the Kingdom of God be set free from slavery to sin by the Truth and eventually transformed into a Son of God - John 8 vs 31 - 36. There is no other way. undecided

1. Interesting claims you make! Being born-again, according to what Jesus Christ explained in the context of the conversation He had with Nicodemus in John 3 vs 1 - 21 means to be born of the Spirit of Eternal Life and granted entry into the Kingdom of God either through the Broad gate which leads to Eternal Damnation or the Narrow Gate which leads to Eternal Reward at its end - Matthew 7 vs 13 - 14. Jesus Christ said nothing of one's sins in that context so it is wrong to assume that being born-again means one's sin debts are automagically resolved. undecided
