It's been a positive start to the season for the Liverpool, who have secured four wins from their first six encounters, placing them second in the league table, two points adrift of Arsenal. The return of striker Luis Suarez has boosted the Bredren Rodgers team, who netted twice in Liverpool's 3-1 win over Sunderland last Sunday. The Uruguayan's partnership with Daniel Sturridge has also been praised following concerns whether the duo could play together. Manager Brendan Rodgers has recently opted for a 3-4-1-2 formation, and the Northern Irishman could stick with it against Palace, who head into this weekend's encounter second from bottom in the table. Ian Holloway has not had the easiest of starts to his side's first season back in the top flight, recording five defeats and just one win so far in the campaign. The Eagles have also seen 10 goals shipped past them, while only being able to find the net four times. The former Championship side may feel that they need to change their approach following three straight league defeats, but Holloway is likely to keep the faith with Marouane Chamakh up front. Wit Moses retaining his number10 role, I see either of Luis Alberto or Raheem Sterling coming in for suspended Lucas. Rodgers might stick with Toure-Skrtel-Sakho. While Jose Enrique supports Jordan Henderson on d flanks with Gerrard playing much deeper like Lucas wud av done. My concern is that Lucas has been covering Gerrard's ahss this season, that's y he accumulated 5yellow cads in 6games......Gerrard hasn't been at his best this season. Palace on dia own side aren't playing wit their 2first choice centre backs.....on a day when Sturridge, Suare7_ and Moses are playing. Hahahahahaha. If we can kill this game in d first half, Jordon Femi Ibe could mek first appearance for the season. Prediction: Liv 4-1 Palace #YNWA 4 Likes |

tchigofigo: I think that Gerrard knows how hard this game will be on him today since Lucas is out. But if you watch the new pattern - 3-4-1-2. Liverpool needs someone who can switch a long and accurate pass to our attackers for possible counter attack when the opposition is pressing in our own center half. I am not sure hendo or Alberto can do that since their style of play are more of short passes. I think if Allen is fit to play today, he will be on the number 10 role. If not I will like to see more of Alberto today and possibly Ibe - in second half |
