The ongoing ASUU strike is just one sign, amongst many others, of the cracks in the educational system of Nigeria. It has come to light that the system is a mess judging from the prolonged strike, the quality of our teachers, and the deplorable state of government owned schools in the country; from primary to tertiary institutions. Little wonder no Nigerian university is listed among the best schools in the world. Below are pictures from some schools of higher learning in Nigeria. We would let you be the judge as to the deplorable state of these schools. Share your take on the pictures above... Universities indeed! I don't consider any of these so called "universities" as institutions of higher learning. No wonder none of them is considered in the top 1000 in the world. No disrespect intended. 1 Like |

But this problem is not from Jonathan now? It should be traced back to all our leaders who turned deaf ears and send their children to study in universities abroad. I believe the only way to clean Nigeria is for everyone to take off religion and tribalism. Let us see ourselves beyond borders. The decay in Nigeria is too much that even Jonathan is confused on how to get them fixed. Nigeria still have a very long way to go |

The public schools should be privitized,as that's the only way forward. The FG just does not have the funds to ensure continous ADEQUATE investment in that sector. Most of the best public schools in the world have been privitized. |

My God! Why all these upon this country?! Jonathan is busy repainting airports, while air coffins are flying all over Nigerian airspace. The education sector is an eyesore. And this same Jonathan calls himself a former lecturer?! |

Must we criticize FG government for everything? VC and school authority what are they doing with billions they are collecting as allocation? What about school fees? Blaming GEJ for not sweeping your house. And some mentally challenged governors like Rochas are still propagating their free education on dirty and smelly school, why not collect a token from students and build a standard place for them 3 Likes |
