lorretta u: so Mexico is western world to you? It is, it is bordered with the United states. Mexico has a system similar to that of the United States, the only difference is the European language they speak Mexico's official language is Spanish (Espanol) and United States speak American English. |

Quite cruel and humiliating, for a woman to have to succumb to giving birth on a lawn (of all places) In public where everyone can see her in that vulnerable state. I am pretty sure, the people who turned her away do not have any soul. The photographers also have their fault, I know this picture shed light on the situation at hand but why take pictures of her while the baby's umbilical cord is still attached to her? At least preserve a little bit of her dignity. |

From what I gathered, they didn't believe this lady was in labour, or ready to birth... This happens in other places too.. Women are frequently turned away from hospitals stating that they "aren't ready yet" only to give birth in other places... This lady happened to birth on a lawn.. I don't see the big deal with it |

TerryCarr: Mexico is very different from USA. The United states has parts that are very similar to Mexico, to say they are very different that's a complete misunderstanding. It is like saying California and Mississippi are the same. Culturally speaking Mexico and United States are not very different. The policies set in place are very similar. Are you going to compare Mexico City to Cancun? |

TerryCarr: That may be true overall, however every country has its good and bad areas. Nigeria is a large country, Mexico is as well. There are parts of the United States where you can pretty much call Mexico because of similar culture and Spanish language domination (California, Arizona, New Mexico and Western Texas). |

TerryCarr: to be fair this was Mexico before America took over Yah I'm aware of the "manifest destiny" thing that happened. However, today in states like California where 35% of the population is Hispanic, there is a good chance there are more Hispanics than white people in that state. Most of the Hispanics (not all) are of Mexican descent or origin. There are many areas in Mexico (if you utilise Google Street view) that look just like California, Arizona, New Mexico, and western Texas. |

When will the word racism be eradicated in the world.
