Sincerely, ask yourself what you really know about Fatima (a.s) other than being daughter of Muhammad (saws) or wife of Ali or mother of Hassan and Hussain?

INTRO.
She was introduced in the holy Qur'an as the ONLY woman worthy to represent Islam (despite the use of "YOUR WOMEN"wink in the "Mubahala (curse)" contest by the holy prophet against the Christian of Najran (sura Al-Imran vs 59-61)! Scholars concur that "Your women" signified a Royal plural for an exalted individual.

The verse of purification (Q. 33 vs 33) where Allah purified the 'household of Muhammad from all form of impurities' was revealed in the house of Ummu salama, one of the holy prophet's wives and she (r)
explained that FATIMA was the ONLY woman of this lofty group!

She was introduced as "al-kawthar (abundance) in sura al-Kawthar!

She was introduced by her father (saws) as the LEADER OF ALL women of paradise!

She was also introduced by the prophet thus: "Allah, The Most High; is pleased when Fatimah is pleased. He is angered;
whenever Fatimah is angered!"

WHO WAS FATIMA (a.s)?

Mary, Asy'ah (wife of pharaoh), khadija and FATIMA were introduced by the holy prophet (saws) as the best four women of all times; and Fatima being their leader, can only be explore by revealing the lofty status of holy Mary, mother of Jesus (a.s).

HOLY MARY
Allah introduced Maryam as "al-Muqadasa", the honorable /blessed Saint", her birth and development was unique.
Her spiritual status was so high that she was being fed with Heavenly foods; and gave birth to Jesus, al-Masih (a.s). All her life was in devotion and servitude to ALLAH (swt).

BIRTH OF FATIMA
Traditionist and historian revealed that the holy prophet (saws) fasted for 40days and at the end of his fasting, he paid a 'visit' to Allah (one of many meeraj he did);and was given a particular fruit from al-Janah (paradise). He met his wife, lady khadijah and FATIMA was born.

He(saws) was ordered by His Lord to name her FATIMA (one who is free from evil or bad character).

Little wonder why the Catholic claimed st. Mary chose to appear in a town in Portugal in 1917, as "FATIMA", hence their order of "OUR LADY OF FATIMA". History however says there was only one Fatima and that was the daughter of Muhammad (saws).

HER DEVELOPMENT
When you know Muhammad (saws) then you know Fatima (a.s)!

"Fatima is part of me and I am part of Fatima..."

She was brought up, bred and shaped by Muhammad himself to that worthy personality whose anger and happiness is synchronized with Allah's (hadith).

Her lofty status was so high that Allah and His prophet (saws) gave her the following nicknames: az-Zahra (the Radiant or shining one), al-Batul (the Modest or virtuous), as-Sidiqat (the truthful), al-Mubarakah(The Blessed Woman), al-Tahirah(The Pure Woman), al-Zakiyyah (The Chaste/Innocent Woman), al-Radhiyah (The Satisfied Woman),al-Muhaddathah (The One Spoken to by Angels),al-Batool (The Chaste/The Pure), Sayedatun Nisa al-Alamin (The Leader of The Women of The Worlds) etc.

MOST BELOVED OF MUHAMMAD
The holy prophet (saws) doesn't love but for Allah's sake.

Aisha, one of the wives of the holy prophet (saws) reported nobody is dearer to the prophet save Fatima and her husband, Ali.

She was so beloved and respected by the prophet (saws) that whenever she paid her father a visit, the holy prophet will stand up to greet her and sit her to where he seat. Often times prophet called her "Ummu Abiha, her father's mother. "

HER MARRIAGE

"If Ali had not been created, Fatima would not have seen her equal in marriage" ~holy prophet (saws).

This was testified by the historical account where many notables including Abu Bakar and Umar sought fatima's hand in marriage from her father. They were all turned down while the holy prophet retorted: "Only Allah have a say in the wedlock of Fatima".

Ali (a.s), gate of Muhammad's knowledge, was chosen by Allah as her husband. Best of children were born with their union, al-Hassan and al-Hussain (the leader of the youth of paradise -hadith), and Bibi Zaynab (a.s), and Muhsin, who died still-birth.

HER LIFE
She dedicated ALL her life in devotion and servitude to Allah. She was able to do this because Allah purified her to the extent that she was free of woman's natural monthly period and child's blood-birth.

Imam al-Hassan described her mother during mid-night prayer, breathing heavily because of her recognition of Allah's majesty. Then she usually supplicate for every muslims one by one without once remember herself.

Imam Musa al-kazim (a.s) said she was called 'az-Zahra' because whenever she stood in her Mihrab to pray, she glows and shine to the denizen of heavens.

Immediately after the demise of her father (a.s), she compiled a book called "Mus'haf Fatima", comprises of hadiths, supplication, hymns (dhikr) taught by her father (saws).

NB: It is unfortunate that SUNNI traditionist only recorded 18 hadith from her (2 in both al-bukhari and Muslim).

HER DEATH
At the death-bed of her father, the holy prophet (saws) whispered to her ears at which she cries. He whispered second time to her ears and she smiled.

Aisha asked her what was it all about? She refused to disclose the matter while the prophet (saws) is still alive. After his death, she said the first whispering; her father told her of his death at which I cried and sad.

The second whispering; I was promised to be the first to meet the prophet (saws) at after-life (in barzakh) to which I was happy and smiled.

She died six months after the death of her father. Nobody knows where she was buried.

LEGACY
A. All the descendants of the holy prophet (saws) came through her; through Hassan and Hussain, hence, the fulfillment of Allah's promise to the prophet (see Sura al-kawthar).

B. Mother of "the twelve Imams" whom the prophet (saws) introduced as his true successors (sahih al-Bukhari and Muslim)
(Ref:en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki Hadith_of_the_Twelve_Successors )

C. Tasbih az-Zahra i.e "Subhanallah 33, Al-hamdulillah 33, Allahu akbar 33" after every salat. A gift, better than this world and its content, given to her by her father.

This is glimpse of Fatima (a.s), the BEST model for all women esp. Muslim women.

Ma salam.
