If you find yourself in the beautiful city of Lagos in the western part of Nigeria, you would know that it is one the most populous cities in the country. Dubbed the ‘Los Angeles ‘ of Nigeria ,it sits on islands separated by creeks, such as Lagos Island, fringing the southwest mouth of Lagos Lagoon while protected from the Atlantic Ocean by long sand pits such as Bar Beach, which stretch up to 100 kilometres (62 miles) east and west of the mouth. It is the second fastest growing city in Africa and the seventh fastest growing city in the world.

The beautiful city of Lagos serves as the economic and commercial hub of Nigeria, with the largest level of expenditure yearly and it also boasts as the state with the highest level of income generated yearly as well. It has a total of 20 local governments under the administration of Governor Raji Fashola and currently it is one of the safest places in Nigeria to live in.

Nigeria’s LA holds the record for happenings, pump and fun-it is a city of bright lights and life. The best hangouts, clubs, spas, joints and hotels are in Lagos. Little wonder, the population of its inhabitants keeps increasing daily.

However, 5 things you should know as a ‘JOHNNY JUST COME’ in Lagos are;

Never ever pay for an apartment or House unless you are sure of the owner and those in charge. Trust me those signs that read: THIS HOUSE IS NOT FOR SALE means serious business.
Do not Trust a stranger with your personal information; Your Bank details and the rest.
Stay alert and be security conscious, avoid late nights alone until you are sure about the area.
Do not go against traffic rules. You are going to pay through your nose if that happens. Those guys-(LASTMA) are not joking around in Lagos.
Never ever act like a novice, you would get ripped off easily also, blend and have fun.
Get on a BRT, Have fun and enjoy the beautiful life in ‘Lasgidi’.
