ALHAJA Bintu Tejumola Olunloyo, mother of former governor of Old Oyo State, Dr Omololu Olunloyo, is dead.

Aged 102, Alhaja Olunloyo passed on at her residence at Scouth Camp, Ibadan, around 11.00 a.m on Tuesday.

The burial arrangements, as announced by the family, will hold today.

The former governor has, however, described his late mother as the brightest and brilliant person he ever knew, adding that she was her source of support while alive.

Speaking with newsmen, on Tuesday, Dr Olunloyo said her mum lived well and died at a ripe old age.

Meanwhile, eminent Nigerians have continued to mourn the late Alhaja Olunloyo.

Speaking on phone on his way to the United Kingdom, former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, described the deceased as her mother, saying she died at a good old age.

Meanwhile, Oyo State governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has commiserated with former governor of the state, Dr Omololu Olunloyo, on the demise of his mother.

The governor made this known in a release issued in Ibadan, on Tuesday.

According to the governor, Alhaja Bintu Tejumola Olunloyo lived a long and fulfilled life worthy of note, maintaining that she died at a time many mothers would desire to pass on.

Governor Ajimobi commended a life lived well, which he said Alhaja Olunloyo lived, especially her staunch motherly support for her son, the former governor.

“Mama, Alhaja Olunloyo, lived an exemplary life. She was supportive of her son, Dr Olunloyo, while alive and I am sure that the support will continue, even now that she has passed on. She was an epitome of motherhood and was an exemplar as a mother.
