I was excited when bbm finally relaunched on Android and I wasted no time in getting mine. I was able to set it up and started chatting almost immediately.

Then tragedy sruck, I discovered I cannot change my DP. Every time I try to change my dp, my bbm crahes.

I have done everything including reloading my Rom but same result.

If u are having same issue kindly hop in and let's find a way out of dis.

Method 1

Requirements:

1. Rooted device
2. Root explorer.apk
3. Reduce photo size.apk

Procedure:

Use d reduce photo.apk to reduce d size (kb or mb). Make sure d photo size is below 30k. For best result, when resizing choose vga or wvga.

When u are done resizing, open root explorer, navigate to data folder. Inside the folder click data folder. Inside the folder locate com.bbm and inside it click on files, inside click on default_avatars. Now put all d images u resized in dis folder.
(data/data/com.bbm/files/default_avatars)

Now when u want to change dp, use the sample images folder.

UPDATE: Just head down to playstore and update ur bbm.

Now u can change ur dp directly from ur gallery. This new option came with the update.
