The much publicized African premiere of Half of a Yellow Sun at the 2013 Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) will no longer hold according to an announcement by the organizers of the film festival.

'Half Of a Yellow Sun' withdrawn from AFRIFF programme

Half of a Yellow Sun, the Screen adaptation of the acclaimed novel, by Nigerian author Chimamanda Adichie, which was billed to make its African debut as the opening movie of the 3rd Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF), has been withdrawn from the programme. The executive producers made the decision not to show the film and withdrew the film last week. The festival Directors are shocked by this decision, however the opening of the programme will now be replaced by another big film.
