2. Dendrimer modified MWCNTs has excellent performances.
Owing to their unique optical, electrical, magneticand mechanical properties, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have attracted worldwide attention in the fields of nanoscience, nanotechnology, and bioengineering. However, now multi-walled carbon nanotubes in polymer composites is limited by its polymerization tendency and poor dispersion. Using polyamido - amine dendrimer modified multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), prepared a dendrimer / carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs-g-PAMAM) nano composites. In polar solvent such as water, methanol and ethanol, the composite material has good dispersibility. Infrared spectra showed that the graft-modification is covalent bonding of MWCNTs and PAMAM, thermal gravimetric analysis data indicate that PAMAM successfully modified on MWCNTs sidewalls, and grafted onto MWCNTs. The amount of PAMAM varies with their generation (G1.0 ~ G4.0) , the specific order is G2.0> G1.0 ≈ G3.0> G4.0. Weihai CY Dendrimer Technology Co. Hyperbranched polymers as UV curable reactive diluents has good application.
Hyperbranched polymer’s branched chain contains a lot of functional groups, with higher molecular weight, low volatility, slight toxicity and irritation to the human body. And hyperbranched polymer has low viscosity properties, therefore, low viscosity hyperbranched photosensitive prepolymer as reactive diluent has become a new development direction. Hyperbranched polyurethane acrylate not only has a great activity but also won’t occur oxygen inhibition , the coating structure between crosslinking points has different soft segments and high crosslinking density to make the coating both hard and tough, and has good solvent resistance. Effective application of modified hyperbranched polyester in the UV-curable coating.
Water-based system develops well due to environmental factor. Hyperbranched polymer designed for waterborne UV-curing system has a unique structure and performance. When hyperbranched polyester increases generation, the hard and soft segments has a significant effect on WHPUD physical properties and thermal stability . UV-curable aqueous polyurethane coating prepares by hyperbranched polyester modification has good performance, by controlling the generation of hyperbranched polyester and modifying the content of the carboxyl group and double bonds to control performance of water-based UV-curable coatings, the conversion rate can reach above 80%, maximum light polymerization rate is 0. 255mmol C = C g-1S-1. Parameters Affecting Component And Types Of Polymer Composites

Thermo set laminates that are usually classified as high – performance polymer composites or as macro – composites based on the length of the fibres or ribbons.

These additives may be Continuous for example, long fibres or ribbons; these are embedded in the polymer in regular geometric arrangements that extend throughout the dimensions of the product. Such systems are fibre based.

Discontinuous (short), for example, short fibres (< 3cm in length) flakes, platelets, spheres, or irregulars (onillimeter to micrometer size); fibres and flakes are usually dispersed in different orientations and multiple geometric patterns throughout the continuous matrix forming micro composites such systems are usually based on a thermoplastic matrix and are classified as lower performance polymer composites compared to continuous additives (Ajayam, et al, 2003).
Composite may also be classified based on the origin (Natural or Synthetic) of the matrix or filler. Nature uses composites for all her hard materials. These are complex structures consisting of continuous or discontinuous fibrous or particulates material embedded in an organic matrix acting as glue.
Wood is a composite of fibrous cellulose and lignin
Bone is a composite of collagen proteins and callium phosphate salts.
Spider silk consists of organic nanocrystals in an organic amorphous matrix.
Shell of mollusks are made of layers of hard mineral separated by a protein binder (Vogel, 1998).
Composites can also be classified on the basis of the intended applications. For example, bio-composites.
Bio-composites for ecologic applications are combinations of natural fibres or particulates with polymer materials from both nonrenewable and renewable resources and are characterized environmental degradability.
Bio-composites for biomedical applications are combinations of biosable or degradable polymers with inert or bioactive fillers intended for use in or thopedics bone regeneration, or tissue engineering applications.

Additions for polymer composites have been variously classified as reinforcements, fillers, or reinforcing fillers.

Reinforcements, being much stiffer and stronger than the polymer, usually increase its modulus and strength.
