In recent times, government agencies, private sector companies, educational and research institutions. NGOs and international organizations need data on a daily basis. Surveys are been conducted, weekly, monthly, etc

Use of statistical methods has undergone a dramatic change as computers and IT methods have entered the research environment. Sophisticated analytics sofware (IBM SPSS, SAS, Excel, EViews, State etc) allows professionals to perform complex statistical techniques and draw valid conclusions from reports.

My fellow undergraduate/graduate statisticians on NL, please identify yourselves, share your hopes and aspirations, contacts, challenges etc in today's fast evolving data and analytics industry.

VIRTUAL DATA ANALYTICS INTERNSHIP SCHEME
(UNDERGRADUATES ONLY)

If you are shortlisted, you will be sent this mail:

Dear SCHLOAR,

This is to notify you that you have been selected as an INTERN/RESIDENT DATA ANALYST in our innovative and exciting Virtual Internship Data Analytics Scheme.

GAP ANALYSIS

Research and Data Analytics consulting is a complex activity that requires technical and non-technical human skills. Together, these skills determine the ultimate success of the consultation.

From the outset, Dataville Solutions became aware that undergraduates in Nigerian tertiary institutions are given little, if any, preparation for actual data analytics consulting careers when they leave school, thus, further widening the dearth of research and data analytics consultants amidst abundant human resources.

We are therefore driven by the desire to contribute towards bridging the gap by creating an innovative Virtual Data Analytics Internship Programme for young and outstanding undergraduates to be groomed in functional areas of research and data analytics for life-long collaboration with education & research institutions, government agencies, industry, NGOs and international organizations.

Successfully short listed Interns/Resident Data Analysts shall be sent the Scheme’s Handbook attached to this mail and are expected to carry out the following broad tasks in their various academic institutions:
·Receiving various clients.

·Coordinate undergraduate and graduate students’ analytical research and data analysis.

·Solve problems in Statistics, Research Methodology and Econometrics via our research portal (see www.data-ville.c om/support).

·Carryout and interpret data analysis using SPSS, EViews, Stata, Epi Info, CSPro, KGP Data Analysts, Excel Analysis Tool Pak and other analytical software packages.

·Organize analytical trainings and capacity building workshops in their institutions (see www.data-ville.com/training)

·Log and follow up various clients’ requests on various Dataville Solutions web portals (see www.data-ville.com/sitemap)

·Working collaboratively with clients and communicating complex recommendations and findings in non-technical terms.

·Presentation skills.

·Billing consulting services.

·Creating strategic partnership with other consulting firms and associated firms both local and foreign.

Successfully short listed Interns/Resident Data Analysts shall also be sent the following items to facilitate their duties/roles. These items have been subsidized by the Company’s Board of Directors (see attached handbook for cost implication).

·Customized Company T-shirt specifically tagged “INTERN”. This T-shirt identifies you as DATA ANALYST on campus and stands you out amongst your contemporaries.

·The Data Analysis Tool Pack: a suite (group) of analytical software tools comprising of original versions and perpetual licenses of SPSS, EViews, Epi Info, CSPro, KGP Data Analysis, MegaStat & Stata

·Successfully short listed students would undergo an intensive entry-level data analytics course ANALYTICS ESSENTIALS under the platform of our Institute for Advanced Analytics (IAA) and be certified as ENTRY-LEVEL DATA ANALYST upon completion (See course content in attached handbook).
