I am in contact with someone who can install SKY dish so that I can watch sky stations. Though the installation and set up cost is quite expensive, the running cost isn't compared to DSTV and there are over a 1,000 stations to watch from. Plus, seeing new movies quicker than DSTV viewers and on HD too.

EmmCHy: Good news to dstv suscribers. Dstv av opened almost all their channels for free. It started yesterday and it will last for a week. This done on a yearly basis. this year's own is here. Make sure to tell all your friends. DSTV...so much more grin

This bonza is benefitial if only my account reading is kept on hold for the week of the free service. But that its not the case because my bill will still be due after one month instead of 1month+1week.
No use.
Re: DSTV Opens All Channels For Free For A Week by IYANGBALI: 4:43pm On Nov 14, 2013
Abuse: DSTV has the best customer service. They will call, text, ping and mail you but they are seriously exploiting Nigerians. Their services should be pay as you go. Why should Nigerians pay for what they are not using. You go to work from 8am and close by 5pm. When do you have time to watch DSTV. I call on all Nigerians that feel me to carry their dish and dash them to all the motherless babies homes cos they are still using antena's to watch television. God bless you all. If ANAMBRA STATE LIKE LET THEM KILL THEMSELVES.
that is my only reason why I no dey pay dem kobo,na free I dey watch dstv wid my sim kad

I will be seeing a live demonstration this saturday. would come back and inform the house. Apart from sports, I get tired with DSTV, the movies are on auto repeat and you have to wait 7 months before they are allowed to show a new movie by then Boko Haram boys don finish to watch the movie for their desert zone. Oh I also forgot to mention the constant 11,000 I pay per month. While with this Sky HD stations, I get to pay N15,000 for 7 months but you need a 4 meter dish (thats a disadvantage for those who don't have space).

To answer your question - I guess I would count them all to know which are English. However, the installer said it is Sky UK, cos there is also SKY Germany and SKY Italia.

DSTV is exploiting Nigerians and they don't seem to be bothered about it. The average man can't afford the lowest bouquet because it's too expensive. Sometimes I wonder if true enjoyment and merriment of TV is only met for the rich and wealthy in Nigeria. I don't have a DSTV at home because my family can't afford it. May God help us!
Re: DSTV Opens All Channels For Free For A Week by teebudutu(m): 5:23pm On Nov 14, 2013
NAIRALANDERS, am actually not happy with DSTV on some of the development that have occurred recently, I sincerely feel this one week of free access to all channels on premium bouquet is to appease those customers that may be aggrieved of the recent increase in the tariffs for the different bouquet, more so i dont know why we are yet to experience the PAY-AS-YOU-USE package as they do in south africa (though heard from people but cant really confirm if this is true),but by my reasoning i think it's should be achievable considering the large market DSTV have in Nigeria.
Another point I would like us to look into is the case of what i experienced during the U17 world cup, I am a customer on Compact plus bouquet, I pay a #7000 monthly (and for some time ago #6750 if I pay before my due date) but DSTV would show all nigeria matches on SS5 knowing fully well that customers on compact plus and lesser packages would be deprived, also DSTV would disable any nigerian local station on their decoder all in the act of preventing broadcasting on their platform, I feel it's a deliberate act and a sign of 'NO CARE' to their supposedly valued customers.

In as much as understand and respect the fact that DSTV is in business to make profit and should they maximise their profit to ensure continous stay in business, I think this organisation is actually taking loyal nigerian customers for granted. How on earth would one pay as much as #7000 naira monthly and would still be deprived from watching his national football match. I may be wrong with these my views but really think I should present these to level headed Nigerians to brainstorm overthem together. I mean no harm to DSTV businesses just my personal feeling on how I have been treated as a customer.........., I wish I have a better alternative

I felt bad too when I noticed they showed those u17 nigerian matches in ss5 when pple who pay 7000+ won't be able to watch it, this is a way to deprive us and is very bad.

I think dstv needs to be banned in nigeria until they start treating us the way they treat south africa, an average man in SA wont find it hard to watch all stations on dstv because it is cheap unlike in nigeria where you have to pay 12k to watch all the channels which is too bad.

I hate thise dstv guys, we really need an indigenous satellite, I heard tinubu is planning on one. I hope its true.
