Samsung plans to increase the percent of all the Smartphones in Africa by 50%. Last year the number of smartphones worldwide topped one billion, and growth in emerging markets such as China, India and Africa, is expected to push the number of mobiles in usage to 10 billion by 2016. GSMA predicts that smartphones will make up 20 percent of the Africa market by 2017 as devices continue to fall in price.

Presently, the future looks bright for Samsung in Africa, after the decline of Blackberry’s popularity; many people have willingly switched to other brands. There is no doubt that Africa presently appears to be a good market for Samsung and does not seem to be unfriendly to the South Korean company in the nearest future. We must also not forget that Africa has a young population of people that are getting increasingly tech savvy and urbanized.
