A foreign enterprise may buy shares of any Nigerian enterprise in any convertible foreign currency.

To do this it must;

Apply for the shares in a company of interest.

The directors of the company will meet to pass a resolution allotting the shares

Apply to SEC for the registration of the shares

Import capital through an authorised dealer and obtain a certificate of importation

Capital may also be imported through the Debt-Equity Conversion program. This takes the form of buying a foreign debt and exchanging the foreign currency that can be used to establish a business or buy shares in a company
