Meet The Giant: Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, 2014 Edition Review by RegalBuyer(m): 8:16am On Nov 26, 2013
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 2014 Edition is an ultra-sleek, android tablet that combines brilliance, intuition, and cutting-edge advancement in mobile technology. Even if you are familiar with its predecessors, this is a tablet you will definitely feel new with. Starting from the packaging to the design, then to performance and specifications, one can simply conclude that the tablet is a suitable answer to Apple’s iPad Air challenge.

Design

On a serious note, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 2014 edition comes with a record-setting design. When it was released in October, 2013, the tablet was available in both white and black shades, and weighs 1.19 pounds. Did I hear you say, that’s light? Yes, 0.19 pounds can easily be overlooked to prefer this tablet over iPad Air.

Fascinatingly, Samsung’s choice of locating the home button on the side makes so much sense; this gives an impression that the maker prefers it to be used in landscape mode, although the tablet can be rotated at the will of its user.

Also, another new design that probably gives Note 3 2014 edition a better look is the shifting of its speakers to the side of the tablet; this should be preferred to the front-facing speakers in the previous editions, because it allows for a thinner bezel at the screen area. On the overall, the tablet’s design makes it a stunning device in every hand holding it.

OS

Galaxy Note 10.1 is a styloid-totting, sophisticated Android tablet, running on android 4.3 with TouchWiz; with these, you’ve got one of the high-end mobile devices in your possesion.

Display

Unequivocally, the display is one area where Samsung Galaxy 10.1 2014 Edition leaves most other tablets in the dust. It boasts a 2560×1600 resolution with 299 ppi pixel density; that should give you a clue of what to expect on the screen.

With 10.1 inches, aesthetically-refined screen, putting your money on this handheld surely worth it; the screen is a colorful LCD, which offers a crispy display, especially for multimedia contents.

Hardware and Performance

Well, in this tablet, Samsung is offering a 2GB RAM with a quad-core processor. This means more speed and higher GPU, which simply means better efficiency for the users. The device also features and in-built Bluetooth, and has capacity for Wi-Fi connections.

Battery and Camera

Samsung Note 10.1 is powered by an 8,220 mAh battery, which can last for about three days on moderate usage. Meanwhile, continuous usage of the tablet can drop the figure to about 7 or 8 hours: this can be attributed to the screen brightness, and the cover up for the power spent on making it a productive device.

However, the tablet’s camera doesn’t seem to provide special advancement to what is obtainable in the market already. It comes with an 8MP rear-facing camera, which may suffer some issues in terms of lightening around the focused object. Though Samsung offers great picture-editing apps, but this may not provide an edge on the long run. It also features a front-facing camera, which is adequate for video chatting.

Air Command

The air command gives Samsung Note 10.1 2014 edition the total edge a buyer might be looking for; it comprises productivity features associated with the stylish S-pen stuck safety at the back of the tablet. The air command is activated by removing the special stylus from its slot, or by hovering it across the screen.

Featured in the air command include the Action Memo, Scrapbooker, Screen write, S finder, and Pen Window; these services makes a pleasant addition to the Note software.
