A friend of mine got this message from Airtel. Dear Customer, effective 3rd Dec 2013 AIRTEL BB Plans will cease to function on non BB devices or used as a modem . Thank you Which way guys? |

If its not compatible with any other network,then get a BBphone if you were already getting obsessed with the BBM application.my sympathies. When Airtel introduced subsidized rates for android BBM users I knew just like with their every attractive tariffs they were gonna prove it once again that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Who cares? With their crappy network I prefer mtn 100mb for 1k to their 1.5Gig for 1.5k |

started using an android few days ago and called airtel customer care to make some enquiries and the lady told me I can't subscribe for BIS on my own kind of device cos it doesn't support it. I knew it wont be long before they extend it to other android phones |

It appears Airtel have made heavy investments in BB devices in recent times and the advent of bbm on android has put that investment at risk. ie they may never sell any of their bb handsets again. The Solution ? Make the android option unattractive to users so bb hardware can regain some appeal. |
